Rd 3. What's acceptable?

He clearly stated on more than one occasion that he did not want to be captain.
Making him captain against his wishes is definitely something we could expect from a wooden spoon club.
Meanwhile we had an existing player who wanted to be captain in Doueihi, but for some reason he was overlooked?
It seems that a lot of the decisions made at this club are a bit strange. If what you say is correct that is very weird , in any case the bloke seems quite "disinterested"

On this forum are we not allowed to use certain words- perhaps I could use the word disgruntled then to describe how he looks (although I do agree he doesn't have much to look happy about )

I don't think it's about the word. More the idea they don't care. I think they care.

Of course he would be disinterested, if it’s something he doesn’t want to do. I would not have forced him to be captain, if we’re looking to get the best from him, particularly in terms of his on field leadership. It’s interesting that you say Api is disinterested, because seeing him at the presser reminds me of when I’m waiting at the dentist. Our last captain almost had a nervous breakdown. Thought he was finished in the game, but now he’s coming off the bench to help Cowboys win games.
As far as Sheens not wanting to be coach, he had a strategy to delegate which didn’t quite work.

I know the Tigers players are used to playing for participation trophies and who has the best Instagram photos, but NO, nothing but a win is acceptable in professional sports. Go be a bricklayer in the day and play group 21 on the weekends if its not about winning and nothing else.

How do you force someone to do something they don't want to do-in this day and age !!!!!!

This is a must win game for our season , the first 2 games were ours and we lost them , another repeat will effectively end our season as we still have games we are probably expected to loose like say Roosters , South’s , Melbourne , Penrith , and now very dangerous Dolphins and Broncos and Cows , that’s another 7 losses on top of 2 or 3 counting this week , 10 losses this year you won’t play finals as I think the compl will spilt again with the top 8 and bottom lot will be black and white

To me it appears none of them care. I guess we are down on confidence and that is not helping our situation at all
Maybe if we can just jag a win this weekend that will lift the spirts of us all, and we can stop being critical, and it may shut the media up as well, they also just continued their negative chatter from last season- we need to win a match

Contracts in themselves don't "force" a person to do something against their will !
Ok, how about peer pressure?
What if you’re the only person in the team who says no, don’t make me captain?
IDK, all I do know is he was asked a few times before he got here and he said no not me.
You say he’s disinterested and I’m suggesting that could be a reason for him to appear that way?
I thought Doueihi would be an obvious choice but not if the club is planning on moving him on?
