I think the issue is Sheens

I am coming to the conclusion appointing Sheens is fast becoming a huge mistake, Sheens wants to bring back the 2005 style of attack attack,.,guess what that was 18 years ago….a time when the players in the NRL were not as big and strong as they are today, a time when the wrestle in the game wasn’t established, a time in the game when all out attack could win you games…..fast forward to 2023 and the game is vastly different….the players are much bigger, faster, fitter and much stronger, the wrestle is dominating the ruck, defence not attack wins you games…look at tonight’s game, both teams pulverised each other and controlled the ruck…neither team threw the ball around…it was 4 hit ups and a kick…Moses all he did was kick bombs to the same winger 20 times….mistake free football, nothing fancy…That was clearly the game plan by both sides…some will say tonights game was a cracker…yeah it was close but pretty predictable and boring too…Sheens and his all out attack philosophy just won’t work in the game today….Arthur and Cleary showed the game plan of today in the NRL…boring yeah but it wins games…

Was also Madge’s game plan but we never had the cattle. Still don’t in the backs.
I made the very point many times about defense wins the games,Madge had that very gameplan and the haters wanted him gone and Sheens and co in to show flare and attack like in 2005...
Thats given us nothing but losses and horrible football....
Hope the Sheens,Benji,Farah Brooks fanboys are enjoying the brilliant football the boys club are producing...
It is only early days so they have plenty of time to get the wins we need to avoid the spoon again....

Every team plays the five hit ups and kick/ bomb. It was never a game plan owned by Maguire - bandwagon mentality when people are after someone to lay blame at
A kick chase game no matter how often it is implemented in a game is only effective on the back of the attitude of the players to execute it - carry, chase, compete, and defend - and our squad in most games performed poorly in all areas hence why we got smashed.
If you havnt got the players with the skills and attitude to be successful with the simplest fundamentals of footy don't know why some thought that a new coach and attractive footy game plan would be executed any better at a club that is ingrained with underperforming.

Correct, and our ex-coach had three (3) years to build his team, and sadly, he made very mediocre decisions. As a result, the team performance, especially the defence, got worse every year.
He picked those players, and he chose to play Nofoaluma, Tamou, Packer, Seyfarth etc.; those were his stars.
😡

It is not a surprise that Sheens quickly implemented the necessary changes.

They were never his stars they were the players that agreed to play at this club - unlike JAC, Latrell, Munster and all the other quality players we have gone after who didn't see WTs as a good option even with a truck load of money thrown at them.
We know how it works with teams that fail the coach is always the fall guy, but game plans and Maguire were never the real problem and people who can't see it yet just don't want to.

Come on mate I realise we have lost 3 games but as for Tim Sheen's "vintage approach " I'm not sure you've hit the nail on the head, he has Marshall and Robbie who not long ago finished there professional playing days as assistants and should be up to scratch with the run of play these days also Sheen's is a professional coach not a blow in.sit back and watch us knock off the Storm tonight on there home ground and we will gain momentum off that
It's round 4 everyone is bashing us , last year's wooden spooners... but nothing about Parra, grand finalist last year only just there first win. Don't hit the panic button just yet ..🍺

IMHO we were extremely lucky that we did not sign one of most undisciplined, lazy, overweight players. ATM, he is at least 30% over his optimal weight, with the WT that would be at least 50%, and he would be injured/fined all the time.

Wtf is it with his fascination of moving people around. I really hope Naden was brought off due to injury or something.

This coaching staff has no clue.

The funny thing is, he will say we won the second half or something along those lines.

Sheens has been a major factor in the club going bad last season and this season. Right now he’s 0-4 he’s only got 2 games left before he starts the season worse than Madge did last season. Sheens could in fact give the club its second wooden spoon.

I wish we could get Flanno. He took over a bad situation at the sharks, had control of coaching and recruitment, and took them to a premiership 7 years later. We are so desperate for just baseline level coaching competency that I don’t care about the drugs saga at Cronulla.
