Also catching while runningMake it 300 passes and maybe even catching a few of them before going home.
I made the very point many times about defense wins the games,Madge had that very gameplan and the haters wanted him gone and Sheens and co in to show flare and attack like in 2005...Was also Madge’s game plan but we never had the cattle. Still don’t in the backs.
If they can't take the coach, good riddance. We need players with discipline, commitment, mental strength, team first ethos and the right attitude. Out with the shit, in with the Batemans! And a couple of the worst playing squads ever assembled. Sheens pissed off over half of them.
Correct, and our ex-coach had three (3) years to build his team, and sadly, he made very mediocre decisions. As a result, the team performance, especially the defence, got worse every year.Every team plays the five hit ups and kick/ bomb. It was never a game plan owned by Maguire - bandwagon mentality when people are after someone to lay blame at
A kick chase game no matter how often it is implemented in a game is only effective on the back of the attitude of the players to execute it - carry, chase, compete, and defend - and our squad in most games performed poorly in all areas hence why we got smashed.
If you havnt got the players with the skills and attitude to be successful with the simplest fundamentals of footy don't know why some thought that a new coach and attractive footy game plan would be executed any better at a club that is ingrained with underperforming.
They were never his stars they were the players that agreed to play at this club - unlike JAC, Latrell, Munster and all the other quality players we have gone after who didn't see WTs as a good option even with a truck load of money thrown at them.Correct, and our ex-coach had three (3) years to build his team, and sadly, he made very mediocre decisions. He picked those players, and he chose to play Nofoaluma, Tamou, Packer, Seyfarth etc.; those were his stars.
😡
It is not a surprise that Sheens quickly implemented the necessary changes.
Come on mate I realise we have lost 3 games but as for Tim Sheen's "vintage approach " I'm not sure you've hit the nail on the head, he has Marshall and Robbie who not long ago finished there professional playing days as assistants and should be up to scratch with the run of play these days also Sheen's is a professional coach not a blow in.sit back and watch us knock off the Storm tonight on there home ground and we will gain momentum off thatI am coming to the conclusion appointing Sheens is fast becoming a huge mistake, Sheens wants to bring back the 2005 style of attack attack,.,guess what that was 18 years ago….a time when the players in the NRL were not as big and strong as they are today, a time when the wrestle in the game wasn’t established, a time in the game when all out attack could win you games…..fast forward to 2023 and the game is vastly different….the players are much bigger, faster, fitter and much stronger, the wrestle is dominating the ruck, defence not attack wins you games…look at tonight’s game, both teams pulverised each other and controlled the ruck…neither team threw the ball around…it was 4 hit ups and a kick…Moses all he did was kick bombs to the same winger 20 times….mistake free football, nothing fancy…That was clearly the game plan by both sides…some will say tonights game was a cracker…yeah it was close but pretty predictable and boring too…Sheens and his all out attack philosophy just won’t work in the game today….Arthur and Cleary showed the game plan of today in the NRL…boring yeah but it wins games…

IMHO we were extremely lucky that we did not sign one of most undisciplined, lazy, overweight players. ATM, he is at least 30% over his optimal weight, with the WT that would be at least 50%, and he would be injured/fined all the time. They were never his stars they were the players that agreed to play at this club - unlike JAC, Latrell, Munster and all the other quality players we have gone after who didn't see WTs as a good option even with a truck load of money thrown at them.

No one else put their hand upThey chose the cheap option for the coaching staff and this is what you get.
