You're grossly misremembering it. Madge was on the ropes because we were playing TERRIBLE in those first five weeks, do you not remember Titans v Tigers? Did you really think everything was smooth sailing when we were 0-5 last year? Madge was sacked because our performances were awful.
It's not a 1:1 comparison, but we are better than last year. Also our injuries early last year included Talau, Doueihi... not really huge outs tbh. AND other teams have improved too.

I hated Madge, but will defend him here. He did not have half the cattle that Sheens has at the moment
We were not playing well at the start of last year but nowhere near as badly as this.We look uncoached and that is inexcusable especially with a side that nominally is stronger.I certainly have not forgotten the game against the tits last year as that was awful as well.We are going backwards

I Agree..I'm fairly sure in the second half 10 out from our line ,Kemmer, Bateman and Papa hit the ball up ,all new signings one after the other made it past the halfway line.. Hard yards done that's what you pay them for and nothing from the player makers nothing also at timi AD is slipping in the back line to kick when he been shifted to fullback,not necessary leave it to the half's and just run the gaps FFS .
Bottom Line drop Brooks not one week give 3weeks to have a good look at him self we need Play makers no mistakes

Top clubs recruit good people. In last year's world cup Robbie Farrah, as a trainer, was sent off in a game, then there was the issue he denied that he swore at Madge whilst running the subs. What sort of message does that give players if our coaches behave like that?
What do we do? Give him a coaching role with no experience.
That just one example of questionable characters at the club.

We are much better...that is why it is so frustrating.
Pack are reg half or more over 100...last year we had multiple games with none.
Hooker is way better.
Goal line D is much better...
I hate to keep saying it, but it all comes down to the spine and 1 and 7 being so poor. Especially 7.
100 plus sets in opp 20 and he has not created a single try.
Put Sean O'Sullivan or Trindal in last year's team and we still come last.
Put either of them in this team and we would be 2-2 min.
Brooks inability to create and short kicks to get repeat sets is ruining everyone else's hard work. It is that simple.

He wasn't sent off in the game.
He explained it in the podcast.
He said he was exiting the field and the camera cut to him and vossy said he was getting sent off.... was all false.

There is no issue at all in moving them on. Brooks contract is only for this year. It's a non issue. Laurie is in the same position. Doueihi has an extra year but who cares.
The issue is getting in 3 players to fill those roles.

I know it's frustrating but I'm amazed at the positives.
Firstly our new signings have been really really good. Klemmer, IP, Api and Bateman are great.
Secondly some junior/development players are stating to come good. Pole, Tupou and Kepaoa look good.
We just lack class in the 1 and 7. I honestly think Doueihi has been worse than Brooks. Doueihi was the main play maker up until last night and they still try to get him involved. Brooks was atrocious this week and the first week. I mean they are both puss.
Fix those positions though and we can improve out of sight. If we had Adam Reynolds for instance we'd be a different team.
and if we kept teddy, JAC, Moses, Matterson, Brown, Suli, tatola maybe we win a comp
who cares, its done, fapping over hastings is boring and sad, hes probably the 16th best 7 in the comp, DM him on instagram if you miss him so much

because brooks and doueihi are not first grade players, wont make the extended squad in some clubs probably. Unfortunately our coach doesn't seem in tune either, picking doueihi at fullback when hes slower than ever and probably in his worst form, picking blokes like seyfarth on the bench instead of looking to the future, also laurie on the bench ... continues to start stef instead of playing him off the bench. Add to the fact we have no set plays or attacking structure at all, the coaching is heavily exposed these first few rounds, this squad shouldn't be 0-4 I won't buy it

Think you can only conclude that Douhis ACL injury has severely impaired either his confidence and/or his ability...either way,its a mistake to continue playing him in 1sts in short/medium term regardless of his contract for next year.Hes a liability to the club,his teammates and himself.Staines,whilst no superstar ,is competent at full back
