Have a feeling Brooks will be playing some reserve grade this week. He was just too bad last week, and not much better prior.

Last week his teammates were visibly frustrated with him, almost in disbelief of the way he was playing. Unless there has been some sort of revelation at training this week I don’t know how you could have him in there.

Never has played reserve grade and likely never will.

I said at the start of the season we were sticking with Brooks and Doueihi. I can't see Brooks getting dropped completely.
 
Also dropping Brooks does nothing,unless your dropping him for good.
You can drop players because there is a clear lack of effort or motivation and it may light a fire under him them.Brooks’ issue isn’t effort or motivation.His issues are his ability,leadership and organisation,dropping him isn’t going to fix that.He needs to be cut loose completely,play someone else there,doesn’t matter who as we can’t get much worse.
As many others have pointed out ,we haven’t won a game with him as our half since 2021.
Wakeham is a doggies reject who was without a contract and was signed last minute,the fact that he is our preferred half is ridiculous.
Sheens and Benji need to own this one.

Yeah could be wishful thinking haha. I thought he was dropped once, early days of Madge? Or maybe he was just out and they were saying he was injured.

Madden is worse than Brooks. Brooks makes mistakes which is better than what Jock Madden does which is fade out of games completely when he is needed.

Hastings is slow and predictable. I have watched every Newcastle game this season, and while he gets a job done, it is terrible to watch and easy to read. Yeah we would win more games with him here but not enough to get us into the top 8. Probably only enough to avoid the spoon.
 
Bottom line is we need a halfback, Brooks would be okay if he was strictly a 6. If there is no plan to sign one soon we are in deep poo. Personally I don't mind AD at fullback, give him time he is stronger at kick returns than Laurie and has ball playing ability.
 
I don't think Brooks will be 7. I think he might be named at 6 or 14. However, a part of me thinks Sheens might put him at L centre and Kepaoa on the bench.

A very small part of me believes he'll be named at 20.
