..

Going into 2023 the Tigers had Brooks and Doueihi off contract and made a decision to pursue Mitchell Moses. Ultimately that failed.

The club needed to put a deadline on the Moses decision to prevent 2023 being sideswiped by contract discussions about both our playmakers.

They recently extended Doueihi for a year and are now left trying to manufacture a fullback, and offload another failed project in Laurie.

Our HB is in career worst form and we are publicly looking at other options.

We now find ourselves in a very predictable position with another season on life support.

The Tigers clown show rolls on. Thanks to our masterful leaders 🤡💩
"Career worst form"

Lmao i will not stand for this revisionism. Brooks is playing exactly how he has always played.

Again,… whilst it may have led to only one try..he has done it several times and been lucky that more tries were not scored
It was a diabolical misjudgement by laurie. fullbacks should be specialists in those situations and he literally just thought the ball would... bounce safely? Be caught by another player? (Even though it's his job)

.... like you can justify it all you want, but how long are we gonna justify bad players playing badly in our jumper? it's not a one time instance either and he doesn't contribute to the scoreboard enough to justify making such errors

Agree..people calling for change for change sake…

“The other guy that didn’t play in the latest loss must be better right?” … even though we have seen him play and he struggled

The players we need to change all sit in the 1-7 jerseys. And they need to be swapped with new players not existing ones from our top 30. No one has earned any spot in those jerseys except maybe naden. Doueihi Brooks and Laurie would not hold regular starting spots in those positions at other clubs, especially the good clubs. They wouldn't stand their mediocrity.

We all have our favourites and clearly Laurie is not one of yours. Laurie, at least puts his body on the line when attempting a tackle, unlike coach favourite Doueihi. If you list all the misjudgments, muffed catches made by a first grade fullback, you'll see that they all take their turns at stuffing up bombs. I really think you have to look at the whole package and who you have to choose from. It's all moot. Should be Staines anyway.......in my view.

Also compare Laurie to Reece Walsh. The gap in talent is absolutely massive. Walsh was an instant success too, picked for origin in his first year.

Most other fullbacks contribute to the scoreboard regularly though. Look at Miller. Walsh. These aren't players with a wealth of experience and miller is playing in a bad team and still contributes to the scoreboard. Laurie is moot. Agree on staines.

In the short term we have to work with what we've got except no more Brooks at 7
IMO Laurie is fast and needs to be given another chance at FB .Coaches just need to get the mistakes out of his game . However we need a playmaker with a good kicking game from somewhere . This is all short term stuff
Try 1.Laurie 2. Tupou 3.Naden 4. Brooks 5. Toa or Staines 6.Douehi 7. Wakeham( preferably a new class playmaker )
Forwards we have a few good ones except someone stop Twal burning tackles and killing the plays
By the way Blore was outstanding when he came on - surprised me !

I don’t get the harsh criticism of individual players?
Laurie is to be applauded for fulfilling his childhood dream of playing nrl like his uncle Cody.
Ok, sure we’ve managed to recruit some average players under the forensic recruitment plan.. and we’ve managed to turn decent players into average..
But it’s still a team sport isn’t it?
And we’re still searching for a team aren’t we?
We will get better when..
Wests Tigers becomes the hill the players want to die on.
Does anyone think for a moment there is a single player who would play the entire game for us with a broken jaw?
Please somebody name that player?
There isn’t one is there?
Are the players simply following the script?
Doing what’s expected of them?

Reading the forum room here, looks like the majority are coming around to the idea that we were better off with Madge?
The problem with Madge though, is same as Cavanagh, he wants decision makers to own their responsibilities.
No. It is like asking whether you would rather be constipated or have diarrhea. Both involve a load of shit.

Sheens should have never had a say in the coaching appointment. Those in charge were too incompetent to realise his ulterior motive.

We should have just looked for a better coach. It looked like there was no option other than Ciraldo considered. We should have appointed Woolf.

'Leave it' for me Patriot. Doueihi is far too too slow and too poor a defender to play in the position. Actually, he's too poor a defender to play in any first grade decision. By the way, on what we've seen this year, Staines is the best fullback. Just my opinion.

Staines has performed significantly better than Doueihi at fullback. I can't see how anyone can state anything differently.

Nah, sorry Demps, his place truly should be in reserve grade until he learns tackling skill, commitment and effort. AJ and Naden are fine as centres at the moment.

To'a has been our best centre and he isn't getting the chances he should be. He made one bad decision last night and it might have made no difference anyway.
