2 Billion on the first of the woke Trilogy
1.3 Billion on the 2nd
1 Billion on the 3rd

That's not a good trend there kid. The shitty in-between cash grab movies like Solo, did not even break even in the States and barely WW. Disney killed the franchise, stuck a stake right through its heart. Besides going woke they pumped out a shitty B grade Star Wars film every year between the woke Trilogy. Too much of not a good thing is still not a good thing.

May 25, 2018Solo: A Star Wars Story$275,000,000$84,420,489$213,767,512$393,151,347

They got 2 Billion for the first movie purely off nostalgia and the franchise name.

My argument of leaving money on the table is valid. How much did they drop from going woke and turning away at least a billion dollars difference from the 1st woke movie to the 3rd woke movie? Instead of doing $2Billion+ for the conclusion of the Skywalker Trilogy, Star War fans boycotted it in droves. About 1-2 Billion dollars worth of droves.

Disney’s Strange World was biggest box office bomb of 2022 with loss of nearly $AU300 million April 17, 2023 - 6:10PM

Disney suffered the biggest box office bomb of 2022 with an eye-watering loss of nearly $300 million on this star-studded animated film.

Disney suffered the biggest box office bomb of 2022 with an eye-watering loss of nearly $US200 million ($300 million) on its family space adventure Strange World.
While it was supposed to be last year’s must-see Christmas movie, the animated film starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Gabrielle Union, Dennis Quaid, Lucy Liu and Jaboukie Young-White was universally shunned by audiences and branded a “historic bomb” for the studio.

According to a new report from Deadline, Strange World’s total loss for Walt Disney Animation came in at $US197.4 million ($294.2 million).

That’s nearly double the second biggest bomb of 2022, Amsterdam, the Margot Robbie-starring ensemble comedy from American Hustle director David O. Russell, which lost $US108.4 million ($161.6 million).

Strange World cost a total of $US317.4 million ($473.1 million) to produce but earned just $US73.5 million ($109.6 million) at the worldwide box office, according to Deadline estimates.

“It’s not enough to say that original animation is a challenge at the box office when it comes to Strange World’s failure,” the publication wrote.

“The movie centred on a family of explorers, the Clades, as they attempt to navigate an uncharted, treacherous land alongside a motley crew that includes a mischievous blob, a three-legged dog and a slew of ravenous creatures.

“Some might say Disney’s embrace of a gay character in the film turned off red-state audiences, while critics found the fantasy pic to be clunky and incomprehensible, and the animation retro and stale.

“Disney nonetheless supported the movie with a full theatrical release and dated it during their traditional five-day Thanksgiving launch pad, where it saw a record-low start for a Disney Animation title during that frame with $US18.8 million.”

The film had been expected to rake in up to $US40 million in that period.

“Disney knew the goods were soured and had Strange World on Disney+ a month later, by December 23,” Deadline wrote.

It was the second box office animation flub from Disney in 2022, after Toy Story spin-off Lightyear also lost $US106 million ($158 million).

Strange World received lukewarm reviews from critics with a 72 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes. It was even more poorly reviewed by audiences with a score of 66 per cent on the site.

“The director Don Hall and his co-director and screenwriter Qui Nguyen seem to have put all of their effort into gaudy backgrounds, wacky gadgets and strange ancillary monsters instead of into dramatic urgency or conflict,” Kyle Smith wrote for The Wall Street Journal.

Strange World has the makings of a fun, pulpy adventure story, and it is, but much of the plot is bogged down in strange, unfunny dialogue and a needlessly complicated storyline,” wrote IndieWire’s Emma Stefansky.

“The uneasy marriage of clunky psychodrama and overwrought special effects along with the fact that none of these characters are particularly likeable make Strange World a chore to sit through,” said Soren Andersen from the Seattle Times.

Prior to its release, the film also generated some outrage from conservative media pundits after it was touted as featuring the “first gay teen romance in animated feature film” from Disney.

Ben Shapiro from The Daily Wire wrote on Twitter in November, “As Disney begins pushing Strange World for next week’s release, here’s the reminder that their ‘not-at-all-secret gay agenda’ to target kids is ongoing. It’s a part of the plot of this movie, just as it was with Lightyear. Your kids, your choice.”

If anyone is interested in the assassination of JFK there is a recent documentary released by I’d say the number one jfk researcher in the world Jim Di Eugenio. Directed by Oliver Stone. Really well done.

Need to pay like $20 though. But for the amount of research Jim has done it’s worthwhile.

Great authors in the doco too. I. E David Talbot

Some of the books he’s used as sources aren’t in publication anymore. I’ve had to go to the Mational library here in Canberra to find some of em. I.e incubus of intervention (Allen Dulles CIA involvement with jfk)

Thanks very much @trentrunciman - I've seen heaps of docos on jfk. Including one that had Oliver Stone... But I think this is a different one.

Oh, that's right, one I saw had Whoopie Goldberg narrating and it completely ruined all interest I had in it. Because she's a fkn idiot...

Umm...what's it called and how can I watch it?! 🤪

Lol this is the one narrated by Whoopie! Dunno why he used whoopie. Jim should’ve just narrated it himself. “JFK Destiny Betrayed” is the title and its 4 hours.

I know Jim knows his shit because all the books I’ve read on the topic. Jim has left reviews on most of them on Amazon lol

if you cbf to watch the 4 hour doco

Who killed jfk isn’t really as important as to the why…

I love seeing Disney fail.
They deserve everything bad that’s happening to them.

That's fair enough, I just laugh at comments like complete failure. Nice
failure at $1 bill

Don’t know if there are any Trek fans on here, but Star Trek Picard on Prime has been awesome. Final episode comes out tomorrow and I can’t wait because I’m a bit of a nerd 😂

Last time I saw Star Trek, some of the crew were running down some gaudy hallway illuminated by what looked like Christmas Tree lighting, being chased by cardboard robots with blinking lights on them.

More garbage from woke Disney being universally panned, no pun intended.

Even the grandkids don't want to watch it.

I don't care about the standard "race swapping" these days with Indian Peter Pan and black Tinkerbell to get the required diversity box ticked, it just looks awful. Id like to meet the weirdos that think they need to make another Pan film every 5 years.

Let me guess…all characters are either POC or gender diverse and the females are incredible warriors?
Glad to hear Disney has another bomb. That organisation deserves to be bankrupted. Hilarious to watch them do it to themselves in real-time.
