Agree Sheens talked him up so expect Manly to test him out big time , Sheens interviews are rubbish and he is now bringing Benji , Robbie into them as he keeps saying they are involved , if this is the case we are in deep poop for the next 5 years , Laurie at 6 in reserves , geezus just put him there in first grade and leave him there same for Staines at Fullback , use Bulla of the bench and piss Tommy off

Sheens is worrying me. He also said Junior Tupou made his debut this year. Hmmmm, pretty sure he played a bit last year

It was a terrible interview.
Mentions Brooks has been getting better
Says Blore and others needs runs in reggies for fitness but is playing TT.
Says next 2 seasons are all about building for Benji etc.
mentioned coming last last year multiple times
then finishes by saying we should win more than 4 games this year to be better than last year.

It was a wtf interview

It is a stark contrast to the crowing that came out of Concorde in the pre season.

Haha, I'm not worried about Sheens or the club anymore. I don't think they could shock me any further.
Put Benji and Heigho in next week and I'd be like "meh🤷‍♂️, expected it" and then get excited about watching them play again.

I’ve seen a bit of his acceleration at times in the lower grades, hence the reason I stated he’s has all the tools to be a quality halve.
He’s tall, strongly built, fast, has good hands and a big boot.
What he doesn’t seem to have at the moment is the toughness or desire to succeed at higher levels.
You could say that’s a massive problem and yes it currently is, but not every young person develops mentally and toughens up at the same stage.
It could just be as simple as a conversation with Benji & Farah to make him realise he has all the tools to become an NRL star except for the most important ones which are the toughness and desire to win at all costs/succeed.
IF he started playing much tougher, playing much more direct and running the ball deep into the line, willing to take a hit to create space for his outside players and also regularly taking on the defence running the ball at top speed aka Nathan Cleary and brush up on his short kicking game, he would become an extremely valuable halve.
I’m sure other clubs are seeing this and if we don’t persist, another club will have a red hot go at moulding him him into the player he can potentially become.

Owned by the same news corp - fox that just paid out over a billion$(AUS) for false claims made about the dominion voting machines. They don’t care they will say anything to protect their interest and get clicks.
 
The purpose of these interviews is to discuss and offer practical insight around any game day elements.
We're yet to win a match, so no offence, these interviews wouldn't exactly be very encouraging to the supporter base.
I have no idea how Sheens could even (attempt to) talk about the team in a reasonable manner at all, let alone for 18 minutes. Hope he goes back to the 5 or 6 minutes personally.
Plus when the circumstances are more favourable we wouldn't feel the need to criticise everything.

I also recall that Sheens only spoke about him a couple of times during the pre-season - never boasted or exaggerated his abilities, it was only in relation to the fullback position. So that isn't how hype is generated.
How information is processed and transmitted is on the individual/s.
You can't blame someone else for how you take something or what you choose to believe and then share.

Say what you want about the coaching but from what I've seen from Sheens (in interviews) he's always trying to protect the players and team from unwanted media attention and scrutiny.
Only ever saw it (his comments on Bula during the pre-season) as a marketing tool aimed at stakeholders to display player or team developments (in the football department). My observations are obviously different from others so please don't take offence but the Wests Tigers supporter base and sponsors are the main target audience here (with club media events/interviews) and their/our reaction is the catalyst or driving force behind it.
This is a good example of how perceptions can negatively shape expectations.

Unspent cap money this year, if management even think of saving those dollars instead of upgrading this kid , they will go down as the worse management team in tigers history,
