Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Dumb as it gets....
- Make Volkman a good enough offer and you get him either way
- No one is coming to the Tigers to play with Volkman, IP at least may have some sway
Agree the biggest point scorer and main playmaker in the biggest point scoring team in the Nsw cup interests me . Jumping to Nrl level must have some appeal .Dont know his personal side like based in NZ or OZ ?

For those mentioning signing Kurt Falls and those disappointed we let Hastings go, I’m pretty sure the Bulldogs would be happy to offload Kyle Flanagan ASAP if we wanted him and he plays that structured style of game.
I’m far from sold on Kyle Flanagan being a decent quality NRL player, but at the same time he’s got a far better resume than most halves his age.
Just making the point he’s one we could easily get straight away if we purely want a structured type of halfback.
He would be an upgrade on Brooks no doubt, plus he is a goal kicker, I would hope we could get better, but he would do if we can't

It'll be a major disappointment if we don't have one of these players at halfback next year:

- Ben Hunt
- Shaun Johnson/Ronald Volkman
- Braydon Trindall
- Mitchell Pearce
- Lewis Dodd

All of them would provide an enormous upgrade over Brooks.
I think “Ink” would be an upgrade on Brooks.

Just adding a possibility. Can't get a look in at the GC. I'm not suggesting he's a world beater but I'd think he'd improve the current team.

Yea there are few players I consider in that bracket who may just turn out good if given the opportunity. I put Crossland in that category. I think he is playing with a heap of confidence this year, and after hearing he is hard core into improving his game much like Cronk was, ut made me go and look at some junior highlights. There is a really good ball player in there. With his attitude, and the experience he has (which is much like Ben Hunts intro into the NRL), he could be a surprise packet. At worst he provides good coverage of 6, 7, 9, 13 and 14

The purpose of these interviews is to discuss and offer practical insight around any game day elements.
We're yet to win a match, so no offence, these interviews wouldn't exactly be very encouraging to the supporter base.
I have no idea how Sheens could even (attempt to) talk about the team in a reasonable manner at all, let alone for 18 minutes. Hope he goes back to the 5 or 6 minutes personally.
Plus when the circumstances are more favourable we wouldn't feel the need to criticise everything.

Not to be rude, but do people understand the definition of hype?
I also recall that Sheens only spoke about him a couple of times during the pre-season - never boasted or exaggerated his abilities, it was only in relation to the fullback position. So that isn't how hype is generated.
How information is processed and transmitted is on the individual/s.
You can't blame someone else for how you take something or what you choose to believe and then share.

Say what you want about the coaching but from what I've seen from Sheens (in interviews) he's always trying to protect the players and team from unwanted media attention and scrutiny.
Only ever saw it (his comments on Bula during the pre-season) as a marketing tool aimed at stakeholders to display player or team developments (in the football department). My observations are obviously different from others so please don't take offence but the Wests Tigers supporter base and sponsors are the main target audience here (with club media events/interviews) and their/our reaction is the catalyst or driving force behind it.
This is a good example of how perceptions can negatively shape expectations.
Lauren, can you please stop making sense so I can vent.
