The debut on the back of little footy is the biggest thing for mine, and whilst he was rightly slightly less active in the second half due to fatigue, that he was able to get back to defuse the kick and then out of the in-goal area late in the game, displayed his true mettle.

Showed a lot of promise, and we need him along with other potential youngsters in these prime positions to blossom.

As an overall, our pack comfortably bested theirs yesterday. Individually, yeah of course they've got game breakers, it's unfortunate that we constantly get 3-4 men in on a tackle and can't have one of them hold the ball.
 
The vibe I got from Sheens in the presser re: Bula is that he did well, but will need to improve to retain his spot going forward. I like that sort of mindset. If Bula regresses then Staines is ready to go at a moment's notice.

I got the distinct impression from Sheens in his pre-match presser that he held Staines responsible for the 3 tries Parra scored off kicks. Don't think he was impressed with Staines' positioning.

I'm assuming that better defensive positioning is what Sheens is looking for from Bula.

I've been really critical of Sheens but I think that was a fair judgement call.

Most clubs have jersey presentation for a debutante from a past player. We get a chairman and CEO that couldn't organise a root in a brothel. Like seriously…. Can these blokes read the room at all?
At least get benji or farah. Well done for ruining a debut.

Great debut from Bula. Handled the step up and impressed a lot with his performance. Seeing his ability to cover ground quickly at the back when they kicked was great to see. His attack and ability to gel with other players will only get better with experience too. Very keen to see his development over the coming years! Well done Jahream!

Saw Joe Cool play one of his last games in Wollongong before joining the Magpies. Went to see what the fuss was about this bloke. I think his team got beat that day but you just knew he was special. Get the same feeling about young Bula. If he turns out anywhere near as good as Joe C we may have found our new Teddy.

Didn't one our foundation teams legend player in former Wests fullback John Dorahy present him with the jersey?
