Your team v dragons

He had some really good hit ups in second half .when Penrith tried to keep us down our end

Yeah, Bateman did well then, though I thought that him having Luai looking out the corner of his eye all match, after a solid thump early on was more productive.

Papalii on the other side as well with Cleary, being a much better effort than letting DCE easily get on his outside to create the opening try last week. Basically, our backrowers did to them that which oppositions are doing to Brooks and co most every week, so good to see for a change.

As long as Api can play 60, Simpkin should be on the bench. Simpkin's young but clearly improving.

I'd think we actually smash the Dragons as their forward pack is average. But last year we lost to them because we couldn't score and this year might be the same.
Last night should be forgotten now. One game at a time and no such thing as an easy game.
The last few years a win or two has been followed by contempt for the opposition and indifference on the field.
We're not good enough to have an ego.

Once we win a few games on the trot then I will be more confident but until then let's just focus on next week because how many times have we been burnt after a win
I've lost count 😔

1. J. Bula
2. D. Nofoaluma
3. S. To'a
4. B. Naden (T. Talau if suspended)
5. J. Tupou
6. D. Laurie
7. L. Brooks
8. S. Utoikamanu
9. A. Korosau
10. D. Klemmer
11. I. Papili'i
12. J. Bateman
13. A. Twal

14. J. Simpkin
15. F. Pole
16. J. Ofahengaue
17. AJ. Kepoa

Based on earlier matches, I would have had Laurie in the 6 last night as well, though on reflection, with Wakeham taking more of a back seat role and his goal kicking being necessary to the side, I would definitely leave the halves together and hopefully the mix will continue to deliver at a reasonable level.

The messages from Sheens are very confusing, particularly so in relation to Dane. Wants to see him play and learn the 6 role in KOE for a while, then switches him back to fullback after a single match.

Fingers crossed we maintain the same spine for the third week in a row, yippee, some consistency there.

Bloody good 17 last night so the sooner we can keep putting the same team on the field each week the better they will get . I understand a bit all the shuffling everyone because you are searching for something . Well guess what you found it !
Only problem is Naden likely suspended no one else charged .please replace him with someone who's good defensively imo that's not AJ who I would pick as bench 2nd rower
Can Laurie replace Naden ? Yes when we have the ball but on the other side of the ball I just don't know ? Thoughts anyone ? Saukaru ?

There's no good replacement for Naden although maybe AJ is best to face the size of Suli? I'd probably lean towards Talau otherwise as I just don't think AJ is fast enough to defend in the centres and Saukuru isn't great either.

With Bula, Tupou, Noffa and To’a all playing strongly, it’s more clear to me than ever we need a #7 and another elite centre , with Brooks to #6. I wish this club could go out and make two big kills in the player market to give the fans a real lift. Surprise us.
Yep centre and halfback and we will be good

How did Sayfart go in Reggie’s last night.
If he can play lock that gives us a nice bench but no cover for backline injuries?
I thought he went really well, carried the ball strong and was hard hitting in defence, but the whole team was tbh.

I think Laurie is a lot faster and more creative than Wakeham. Wakeham's defence has been poor and he is 2kg lighter and 11 cm shorter than Laurie.

He could hang around the middle of the field and backup Api and Brooks when they run, we are really missing that. I see him playing a similar role to what Lui does for Penrith.

I think Laurie will come good at some point and has a much higher ceiling than Wakeham who is not a 6.

Wakeham is less of a risk and can kick goals.

It's likely both, Laurie and Wakeham won't be at the club next year.

Hopefully they have a plan for 2024.

He might never get is act together and act like a professional athlete but it would suck for him to do it somewhere else. You can't coach speed and creativity and it is pretty rare.
