Wonder if Saukuru wing, Tupou centre, is being considered for FG. Otherwise don't know why we'd move him.
I don't think they'll move Tupou in the short term @old_man_tiger as he could be a very good aerial threat for us as he develops.

It's probably a combination of needing depth on the wing in case one of Tupou or Nofa goes down & seeing how Livai goes on the wing as he brings speed, power & a good step (Sheens is having flashbacks to Taniela the Tank)!

In your opinion, could either of Reilly or Sakura get a run in the centres for 1st grade in place of Talau, before Naden comes back?
After Saturday, if a change was made in NRL, I would favour maybe Reilly for centre. Sakura got plenty of ball, but that was a combination of Daine hitting the line up the left edge, creating the overlap, passing it to Reilly and then onto Sakura.

Not sure whether Pellow was half and swapped with Smith or not but he can pass both left and right. Seems to be the exception these days rather than the rule. I'd like to see more of him, but he seemed to create opportunities admittedly to a tiring Eels who fell over the line at the end.

Saukuru is a centre. Always has been, throwing him on the wing to include room for sub-nrl standard players is just silly. Yes a chance to show versatility but we need centres, not wingers right now...

There's not a chance in hell you'd move tupou to accommodate Saukuru.

And in any case Saukuru isn't even eligible for another month or so!

Isn't it after round 10 that train and trial players can play firstgrade?

Players outside the 30 are eligible from this week onwards.

I think Blore has a good future as an NRL top 17 regular, but he’s a bit one dimensional, would be nice to see him add a jink or a step when he runs the ball.
Nice try he just scored off a Laurie short ball.
On a side note young Manly centre Fletcher Myers looks to have some talent, maybe try an immediate swap him for Talau ?
I've been calling for Fletcher Myers to be recruited for a while. Good young player. I've known him since he was about 13 and he's a really good young fella from a good family too

Some classy touches from Laurie in Cup in recent weeks. 7 try assists since dropping back. With Charlie out, he is again back up fullback which has seen him pushed back there again. Hopefully for Laurie they can find a way to get him back in the halves, because that’s where his future is, regardless of the club.

I hope we give him as decent crack at nrl 5/8 before we make the decision to punt him.

He has not proven to have an NRL future in any position

I watch all our NRL games at least twice but the KOE cup I've only watched a few so question for those who watch all
1. Can Laurie perform as an NRL 5/8 ? As he's no chance for Bulas spot now.
2. Can Saukaru -is he good enough to try out as our NRL left center ?
3. Boyling - 2nd row seems to score a few tries -does he have an NRL future ?

No to all.

1. Not sure, don't think the club has plans of trying it out though (especially when Staines' injury makes Laurie the backup fullback).

2. Don't think so. He's still young and will improve but I'm not sure if he'll get there.

3. No. Good reserve grader, probably never going to be anything more.
