We seem to get down the other end quite well with the pack we have but come up short for points all the time. If they can master the grubber in goal and aim for repeat sets and tire the opposition surley it would increase the chance of converting to points. I know brooks can't kick but they should assess all the players kicking abilities and see who has the touch.

I'd like to see cross field kicks for tupou cas he's taller then most wingers that seems like a no brainer

We have one of the best bomb kickers in doueihi. Surely he can teach brooks or wakem how to do those monsters or get pat Richards in. Even his kick-offs would be handly.

Can we get some ideas together and send it to timji it can't hurt

I love a good passing try.
Particularly enjoying the run arounds and we should continue this. Would like to see in the red zone a run around play onto the fullback with a fake to go wide but have the centre cutting back against the grain.
Or Ricky and Laurie and the long ball short ball play onto a rampaging big mal. Or another fav is yee olde quick hands all the way to the winger.

We are like stunned mullets when we're close to the line especially on the last
We have an attacking coach (sheens) & former attacking players like Marshall & Farah but what they did years ago ain't working now so they need to go back to the drawing board especially after practicing heaps of attack over the off season it just ain't working
We lost a bit of whatever attack we had when we lost staines & naden
We did show glimpses against the doggies when we went back to back to back & also during the eels game
Api tries to spark something but nobody follows through
Laurie could provide a spark
Brooks & wakeham if they click can also put on a show but they need to get the brain snaps out of their game & work together
We need tupou & bula to attack more
The run arounds & cross field kicks are sooo predictable
They need to be more creative with their kicks by aiming them at the posts for example or by throwing long passes ( I know they are risky for intercepts but hey what do we have to lose 🤣💁‍♂️) & things like chipping & chasing etc
We're too scared & too predictable at the last hurdle & teams can read us like a book
The tryline is 60M Wide how hard can it be to get over the white chalk 🤣
Worse comes to worse we could do a maradona to get over the line
Now that would be rather OFFENSIVE 😂🤣😂🤣😂

They could have a set play in the redzone where papalii could be in the centres and run a line like big mal. He'd be hard to stop if they got him one on one

Biggest issue I see in the red zone is no one is compressing the middle before we go to on edge. We did this a little with those old school run arounds from dummy half a few weeks ago, but that's not sustainable IMO as teams will work that our pretty quick.

We desperately need to work on someone who can do what Elijah Taylor did, play straight and deep into the line bringing 3 middle defenders into him before promoting it out to Brooks with square shoulders. Not many can pass well square onto the defence, but it can be worked on.

Papalii, Seyfarth and Matamua seem to be the only options for this, but one is on an edge, and the other two not in the team.

Get deep and run some angles rather than play flat pass the parcel. If you don't force a defence into decisions they can't make mistakes.

Didn't look creative and scoreline is what it is but the club and unit was building from absolute ground level coming into the year and even a few weeks in. 4 combined tries conceded vs Penrith and Souths is a big big step in the right direction on that side of the ball.

WT have completed at 90%, 87% & 87% over the last 3 weeks. Anything remotely close to that in the opening month and they’d have more than 2 wins.

Have to be proud tho definitely have not believed the Tigers would’ve had the 8th best defence at this point of the year. Worst attack more believable due to that being the case for a while. Contact, line speed, discipline and decision making has improved a lot since the bye. Credit to Dave Furner for that.

We have players like Tupou, Papali’i, Brooks Klemmer and Stef who are breaking tackles and running through the line.
We can score tries if we support these players.
I’m embarrassed 😩 at the number of times I’ve seen half breaks and players standing back thinking about the next play.
There was one line break in the Souths game achieved by Brooks’ supporting the ball carrier.
Everyone jumped on Brooks for taking the wrong option, kicking to the only support player with half a chance.
Is it too much to ask for another player to see what’s unfolding and support Brooks?
If Brooks was Cleary he would have 2 or 3 passing options.
We are just not hungry enough in attack.

Have no idea what we can do to get over the line other than what some have already suggest, but one thing that is missing is Doueihi's power running in the red zone as he was hard to stop close to the line.

Unfortunately the advantage he provided for us there was negated by his poor performance in other areas of the game such as his arm grabbing and ball hogging.

Our attack inside the opposition 40 is just pedestrian. There is nothing to make the opposition have to make decisions, besides a kick, to provide points to exploit. Any simple slide defence has us covered because of it.

The lack of shape is discerning, but going back to basics has definitely given us a foundation to work from. I could moan about the halves but they are what we have at the moment and sticking with them provides some stability (although for mine they are too similar).

There are a few simple things that could be done while maintaining a basic approach to the execution to keep our completions high.

Brooks is starting to run and has gone close to cracking the line a few times over the last couple of weeks. The howler where he failed to pass to Bula on his inside may be on Brooks but he may also not have expected or known Bula was there. A bit more awareness and we should have been on the board. I feel that is more about combinations and playing together than Brooks being inept.

Wakeham on the other hand is not digging into the line at all. He needs to engage the edge defenders before he delivers the ball. Same can be said for his kicks - he is protected now so can take the ball a little deeper and commit defenders then kick or slip the late ball on the fifth.

The low % bombs that result in us handing the ball over 1-5m out need to be higher and mixed up with a grubber, a chip and a floater. Make the outside backs think.

A stacked shift to a corner with an IP, Bateman or Twal as the targeted runner at centre and we simply ask more questions of the defence. Bring them back against the grain as part of a block play. Nothing difficult toe execute there.

Instead of running simple drop off plays around the ruck and first receiver. Change the dimension of it. Drop off or do a run around to a simple X/Y play off Klemmer/Stefano one or two passes wide. This will provide second phase options for an ICE/Bateman running lines or a "fill in" backline shift. Subtle change, low risk but higher probability of success.

Nothing drastic but a good foundation to build into next year with when I expect we should be able to develop some better shape with a half that can read the game and guide our attack getting two would be gold. Add in a beast in the centres and I think we are cooking.

While we are at it - surely it is time to give Daino and Pellow a crack in Reserve Grade to see if there isn't something brewing there that could be unleashed later in the year. We have them in stock but not aren't using them at all to see what "could be". Time to have a crack - could it be worse then what we've got? Maybe, but we could also change the dynamic of our attack. KOE is where we should be experimenting; crack on boys.

I haven't looked at it again, but others are talking about him not passing to Bula. Was he an option, as I didn't see him as one live?
