situation for mine is a little different. the Warriors currently have the best first grade-ready young half on their books in Volkman. they will only want to offer SJ year to year contracts because they will turf him at the first sight of him declining. while that's not happening right now, that could happen down the track, possibly even as soon as the end of this year.
the WT offer will be higher in salary and security for SJ. it wouldn't surprise me if we go as high as $750k and even throw in an option for a third year. we can go that high. Alex Conti is probably still 3 years away from regular week to week first grade, which means we don't have a Volkman-esque situation.
it wouldn't surprise me if Johnson stays at the Warriors because of how much he loves the club, but we are very much in with a chance. let's see what happens.

I am so glad the people on this forum weren’t running the tigers in 2004 and the following era. They would have lost Benji to the roosters, never have signed lote, told Scott prince in 2004 he was too good to stay with us , told skando and fults to go play with manly .
Why would young guns Tupou , Bula, Da Silva extend if they had your attitude to the future .
Stop putting them down and stop thinking they can’t sign top players . FFS believe in your team , because if you don’t, know one else will.

We can clearly sign top players. Bateman, IP, Klemmer and Api are great examples. If a player isn't off contract though ala Hunt I think the likelihood of signing them is really low.
It's not a matter of putting them down. It's about realistic expectations.
I'd love Hunt or SJ or any decent half to come here.

Speaking of coaches I note that the Raiders are on a roll, obviously Madge’s attacking input is starting to kick in.
I’d really love to be celebrating 5 wins or more in a row.

Exactly, but they were a new team thrown together. How is it so, can only assume Bennet/ Wolfe and Sticky/ Madge much superior coaching combinations.
