TEAM LIST Round 12 vs. Cowboys

Team List
Not sure I understand Joe O in the team and leaving. Matamua, Blore at 13 if Pole is out would be superior options. It sounds like he knew he was being shopped his forms down substantially. Was great last year.

Talau seems to only pass it if he think he is no chance of pulling something miraculous off himself (Think back to when he passed the ball to Tupou who scored the last try against Dragons, he had starved Tupou of any 1 on 1 or open space opportunities. When it looked like Talau was 4 on 1 and ready to get smashed he finally passed it to Tupou, who did a miraculous job to score).

Any time Tommy has half a chance he tries to do it all himself. Naden was our best attacker at the start of the season and it was when he was at left centre(He was the only one making any breaks), after they moved him he had quite the dip in attacking output. Starford seems to have the right side locked down for now so hopefully they put Naden back on the left after the bye as I am quite certain he will form quite an attacking combination with Tupou, & neither of them are afraid to pass the ball (Think back to Tupou's flick pass to Kepaoa recently & Naden to Tupou in the trail against Raiders).

How long do we think it will be until we give Junior himself the centre spot though? He definitely has too much skill to just be used as a battering ram, reminds me of a young RTS with his footwork. Target Lomax and resign Charlie and next year we could have this back 5:

1. Bula
2. Nofa (Wild thought but try a player trade for Saab? Hasn't been great this year but was one of their best when they were firing, pretty much my same thoughts for Lomax and Dragons)
3. Junior
4. Lomax
5. Charlie
Noffa has been one of our best the last couple of weeks , what games have u been watching , again hatred of him stands out

Are you drunk? I do not think I said a single word about Noffa? let alone spew hatred.
Has he been good? Yes. Has he been in the top 5 any week? No. Bula, Klemmer, Api, Starford, Papali'i and Twal would be the ones I would have in there consistently.

I think something that people do not realise is that while players can be good, they may not be the best for the team. David Nofoaluma is paid as one of the top 3 wingers in the comp. it took a raw winger and an unwanted one from penrith 3 rounds to take both wing spots, and he only got another opportunity because one got injured. Like offa, I do not think his output warrants the % of the salary cap he takes.

Saab is 22, has a very high ceiling and seems to be well liked. He adds height to our team which you simply can't develop into a player and could help us land Lomax too.
Noffa is nearly a decade older than Saab, I also think it is a possibility that Manly could bite because he is well regarded in the league.

Don't know if posted elsewhere but apparently Luciano Leilua has been cleared to pay against us. Tigers protested given he was originally named in the 25 but of course that was not successful.

I may be imagining this, but I am sure that sometime back someone mentioned on here, may have been during the pre-season, that Benji had words with Joe and didn't rate him at all as a #13 and if so things may have been a little strained ever since.

If this took place then I would imagine it was an indication that Benji may not have wanted him here when it was "his team" in 2025.

If there is any truth in this, I cannot understand his resigning, particularly at the dollars that are being bandied about for 2024/2025.

Nothing would surprise me though, because this club works in truly mysterious ways.

Laurie should have been given a cr@ck at 7. Wakeman is rubbish , Laurie is quick on his feet , gets involved , and talks on the field , piss poor he hasn’t been given a go , he has been going good in reserves
He has never shown anything to say he'd even be an average halfback.

I'm of the other side of the argument - he's been average majority of the time with some glimpses of being alright but with Bula coming on the scene and making his presence felt... Laurie is another surplus player taking up a top 30 spot with no future at the club.

Sheens is all in on Brooks & Wakeham.

The forum seems to be writing off Laurie ? I always thought he had signs of being creative could run into a gap etc .
Now I remember Peachy last year was mocked and derided and spent most of the year in ressies or bench but now he's a regular starting center with Penrith who aren't a bad side by the way and he seems to be revered there. Jock nearly pulled off a couple of big plays with the Broncos last night although the key word here is "nearly"
What is it with Tigers players who have made a mark elsewhere come here and time and time again its a bust !
We fail to sign the Munsters and Johnsons and I think our reputation as a laughing stock as Hooper called us this week is amplified by all of the above

It's about caring about the club.
Cut such deadwood I say - the quicker the better.
