Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Here is an idea, wait till Joe's replacement in the top 30 is named before judging the move.
One scenario might be that Joe was a part payment for Moses who panicked and signed the same day (coincidence?), then we found an excuse to stall the Joe deal while we do a swap for someone else?

IMHO This is part of a bigger picture being worked on by Fulton, and simply reflects the fact that Joffa was not that highly rated by the coaching team, and they obviously see him as expendable.
Remember we have offloaded quite a bit of our old forward cattle in the past year or so ( Leilua, Garner, Musgrove, Liddle etc) and this is just another one.
Not when the current management and coaching structure re-signed him only a few months back it’s not….

Edit - granted they wouldn’t have seen Pole doing as good or better job at lock this year - and the signing of Klemmer now makes Joe a little excess…

At the time Offa was an origin forward and an upgrade, which if we are letting him go that is exactly what it will be about, upgrading the roster. He has become too expensive to have on the bench. I have always been a bit of a fan, mostly he tries hard to put in, has some flaws, is good with team mates and the fans, but he’s a prop and a prop only, and I reckon Blore can replace him as a bench prop and can play 2rf. It does leave us lite for depth though. Hopefully they get this right.

How are we getting 400k for this year when it is half over and he is supposedly only on $450k for this year?
We are starting round 12 full comp is 27 rounds, so 15 rounds left, not quite half the comp is it old mate, but its parra, why would you quibble over parra paying maybe $100.000 more, who gives a tinkers cuss, anyway.
And articles I read were saying $600.000. And no matter if its $25 dollars we save money by letting a player go who is of no use to us whatsoever.

Of course you will, you have never posted anything positive on here so why start now?
I cant speak for @Tucker, but there hasn't been a whole lot to be positive about, for a long time. Everyone on here cheers for our side every week, some (myself included) are critical at the methods used to try and improve this Club.
The Club has done nothing so far to generate hope that we can avoid the Spoon again. Saving $$ for 2025-6 is forfeiting 2 more Seasons, which they've done consistently.

The bottom line with the Joe O thing is, you can only shop around a player when they’re under contract if they agree to it. Joe O still had 2.5 years of a hefty contract to go, so why does he want out?? It’s my understanding Parra are offering him a three year deal, so it’s basically only one more year than us. Also why are we getting rid of him.

You can only hope it’s to open up a cap spot for a 6 or 7, but my guess it’s more about getting a unhappy camper off the books

Who's talking about 2025-26? Ofanegaue's contract is 2023-25, so we're talking about next season and the one after that - so not "forfeiting" any seasons that aren't already gone. If you think Ofahenguae was the key link in our charge to the 2023 premiership why don't you just say that instead of making things up?
