Booing

In both codes of footy there are probably hundreds of professional indigenous players. If one indigenous player is being booed and 99 indigenous players aren't being booed, chances are the one is not being booed on the basis of being indigenous.
Possibly.

But Goodes was the main indigenous player calling out racism publicly at the time.
And it all started after he called out the young girl.
Timing seemed suspicious.

I see ur point but if u got 10 people booing how the hell do u know if any are race based booing , it’s just to easy for these select players to point the finger
You could be right.
Just my take.

Had a bit of mob mentality about it

Maybe people didn't like a millionaire footy player celebrity publicly naming and shaming a 13 year old girl regardless of the inappropriateness of what she said? Dunno just guessing, I paid no attention at the time as I have no interest in AFL, nor the media's daily wanks about racism.

Over sensitive victims…
Wally Lewis got called a wanker by thousands of people in unison all the time.
Aussies are no where near as racist as claimed. We are tall poppy hunters though and if you excel, especially in sport, we’ll go after you to gain some sort of advantage.
Does that mean that if Luke Brooks goes on and absolutely kills it week in and week out, he is still going to cop shit on here?:ROFLMAO:

Poor bastard can't win.:ROFLMAO:

Good Post, - Should never ever be about Skin colour or nationality. It astounds be that this occurs.

I don't mind a Boo of players like Sharon Woods...
Remember being at a game where the "Thurston's a wanker" chant went up, he copped it sweet and I think he had a bit of a laugh about it.

No mention of racism then, people getting softer all the time and should have been around when I was growing up, they wouldn't have survived back then.

Who are you referring to?
Very good question. It's far too easy, and people are far too ready to throw words like racist around. A lot of people don't like Latrell or Cody Walker. That doesn't necessarily make them racist. Some think these players are grubs and dislike them for it. It's only racism if you don't like them because of the colour of their skin.
I am having real difficulty supporting The Voice. That's because I'm hearing very little about how it will work in practice. It almost seems like it's a deliberate strategy by the government to try and get it through on emotion rather than a considered decision. Yet, I'm being told I'm racist for not supporting the proposal.
Racism is disgusting and we've probably all been guilty of it to some degree at some stage of our lives. But, not every adverse reaction or comment to a person of colour is rooted in racism. Call it for what it is.

I would say in Wests Tigers circles, due to his salary and experience, he is a tall poppy and that’s why he attracts so much attention.

Wow sad how many racists we have in this forum. Oh well at least it provides an easy list of people to ignore
Stating that makes you sound like a bloody moron. Put me on that list, I want nothing to do with pathetic people like you. That includes the gutless ones who liked your comment as well.

It all came to a head when a young girl called him a big ape or words to that effect....he called her out at the ground and it all went from there. Eddie Mcguire dropped some ridiculous comment on his radio show and it escalated further.
My recollection was he was vilified racially in 2013 by the girl and rightly had her ejected. He copped unfair backlash for that.
Then in 2014 he was named Australian of the year and spent the next 12 months running the joint into the ground, focusing on historical atrocities rather than any and all positives that exist back then and currently. He basically retold stories we are all well aware of such as Captain Cook, massacres and stolen generation rather than work on solutions to the current problems facing his people such as poor education, poor health, substance abuse, unemployment and crime in remote and regional centres. His campaigning of anti racism ignored all the bad things coming out of the Indigenous communities. Sure the vilification of individuals and inequity of opportunities may have dissipated, but it did nothing to spark generational change within Black communities. A lot of households had substance abuse concerns, a lot of the kids were still living in squalor, a lot of communities were made up of unemployed individuals living on welfare, and the jails and detention centres were still heavily populated by indigenous criminals.

This seemed to upset people as he was just calling everyone racists, rather than use his huge platform to elicit actual change.
2015 is when the crowds turned on him. Is it possible they’d had a gut full of him by then? I can’t answer that.

You've actually articulated very well the reasons crowds were booing him... Loud mouth man who should have known his place?

The number of Sky News Boomers on this page who regurgitate the word "woke" whenever someone does/says anything they don't like or agree with is hilarious and cringeworthy.

Boo = good or Boo = bad is such a childish and reductive argument.
It's equally hilarious and cringeworthy the number of soy boys who chuck a tanty upon hearing the word 'woke' and carry on as if they have been grievously wounded.

I actually have no idea what it even means? Just that talk back radio hosts and tabloid news papers use it to describe everything they see wrong with world.

There are two camps in the world: the 'everything is racist/sexist/transphobic' crowd, and the equal and opposite reaction of 'everything is woke' crowd, they feed off each other and depend on each other for their existence.

I think both camps spend too much time on the internet or consuming certain types of media. The vast majority of people are very middle range and reasonable. It is the extremes who are the loudest.
