I don't know why we brought in McDonnell in the first place given he had been out of the game for ages.

He wasn't out of the game for ages, he has been at a few clubs recently, I think Canterbury and maybe Parra, but I agree, why bring him back, one of Sheens job for the boys signingI don't know why we brought in McDonnell in the first place given he had been out of the game for ages.
Well then, we've got really short memories. We at least know the Knights came knocking. No he is saying Brooks has been free to sign with any club since November 1 last year, and he hasn't been signed
McDonnell gone. And lots of theatrics from the Telecrap.
Wests Tigers have parted ways with one of Tim Sheens most loyal lieutenants, recruitment manager Warren McDonnell.
His departure comes amid rumours that the club was split over the decision to offer Luke Brooks a new contract.
McDonnell, who has spent more than three decades at Wests and the Tigers across two stints, is believed to have split with the club on Wednesday morning.

Sheens was the driver behind his return to the club last year but his position has been under a cloud since the Tigers secured Scott Fulton from Manly.
McDonnell was responsible for signing some of the club’s most renowned players including Benji Marshall and Scott Prince.
Club officials privately dismissed those claims on Wednesday after it was put to them that Sheens and Marshall were responsible for the decision to offer Brooks a new two-year-deal when others were less than convinced.
Yeah no doubt to keep him we will need to bump our offer up but if he stays for 550k that would be a sweet dealThat's only a little more than probably the wingers
100% it would.... his manager will know his worth though. It's not 550.Yeah no doubt to keep him we will need to bump our offer up but if he stays for 550k that would be a sweet deal
Prob looking at 750 - 800k wouldn't pay more than 800k, if he wants more he can walk, we could fins a heap of Super League halves who could do the same job.100% it would.... his manager will know his worth though. It's not 550.
let's let Brooks walk and go with flannagan and wakeham for 2024 giddyup .... good griefWell then, we've got really short memories. We at least know the Knights came knocking.
He is only still here because of his love for the Tigers and Benji/Sheens reigniting that
700k would be the going rate for a half in 2023100% it would.... his manager will know his worth though. It's not 550.
What's the limit though, if he wants over a million a year do you still sign him. Where do you draw the line on his value Jedi.a

100% - if people are just regurgitating a twitter rumour they should attribute the source instead of framing it as though it is their own personal inside info!!Fair enough, should lead with that if it’s new to a thread, particular the rumour thread.
I just have a mental note in my head to take JT rumours with a grain of salt as they always seem to be off. Been disappointed too many times!
You'd expect Sheens is not happy with this.
Halves are not a generic homogeneous commodity to which you can slap on an average market price!!700k would be the going rate for a half in 2023
I'd be ok with something like $700k and under, i dont think $500 K will do it maybe somewhere in the middle, but we cannot pay him anywhere near what he was on it was a ridiculous contract. The thing thats in his favour is there's nothing on the market. Brooks always seems to have his contracts come up when theres not a lot on offer.700k would be the going rate for a half in 2023

You'd probably have to pay $650 or so for Flannagan. Good halves don't come cheap!a

limit would be 750k for brooks I would think. What's the limit though, if he wants over a million a year do you still sign him. Where do you draw the line on his value Jedi.
exactly 650k fir Flanagan clubs would take Brooks for 700k or 750k any day of the week over FlanaganYou'd probably have to pay $650 or so for Flannagan. Good halves don't come cheap!
Brooks could have signed with the Knights for season 24 when they came knocking, then either agitated for an early release, or just played this year with us and moved next yearWell then, we've got really short memories. We at least know the Knights came knocking.
