He's definitely worth re-signing, at worst he's arguably the best back-up half in the league and at best he develops into a decent starter.
It's him or Brooks though if we want to be a serious finals contender. Neither of them really take control of the game. Brooks is too passive whereas I feel Wakeham is very much a confidence player who'll get involved when the team/he is doing well but goes missing a bit if he makes an error. I think given he is only 24 and hasn't had an extended run in first grade, it's conceivable Wakeham improves the flaws in his game. Brooks is who he is at this point. While I think Brooks is probably still more valuable now, if we're talking next year and beyond I'd probably rather Wakeham when also factoring in his gun goal kicking too.
