Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Do we all realise Ben Hunt turns 34 in March 2024 ?
He’s had a great career, but his best games have been as a hooker for Qld, he’s had plenty of shockers as a halfback over the years.
Anyone who truly believes he’s worth over a million dollars per season as a 35 and 36 year halfback is off their heads.

They cannot go for Hunt. Cause it will only improve the team. They cannot afford him at any price. Come on people. Lets get real. He is quality. It will take the focus off management, hairstyles, hats, scarves and controversy.

I've always been off my head. Just ask the rest of my fellow forumers.

Bit of player movement being discussed but apart from Frizzell we don’t seem to be mentioned anywhere. Makes me wonder who we are chasing.
Thought Averillo would have been worth a crack at- he’s got some skills and pace and is versatile.
Apart from NRL quality Halves, we also need a prop, an edge forward and a centre at least, to get us through the next 2 seasons competitively.

Just my understanding of the language. Possibly from the media but I can’t remember anything specific. I definitely could be wrong.

I know a low level player manager so will check with him next time we catch up.

Language wise, it seems odd to think that when a club option provides the club the sole decision on extending and a player option gives the player the same choice, that a mutual option provision requires the agreement of both parties.

You do realise humans naturally slow down significantly particularly when into their 30’s, hence the reason the vast majority of players have retired by age 34.
Ben Hunt is no doubt a great competitor, but he’s main attribute has been his speed off the mark.
This time next year his speed off the mark will have diminished significantly.

His brain is more valuable than his speed.
