Expecting him to play like an NRL 6 or 7 is unrealistic. The guy was looking for alternative employment away from footy in December. Blame the idiots running this place that were "trying" to compete, with him in the side. We were shit before Wakeham signed.
 
Hunt will have
Titans , Dolphins , Dogs , Tigers , Roosters to choose from
if he heads to Any club but us , Brooks could get picked up for dragons or Roosters or even Gus Dog ,
we could very well come out with Zero
I would go hard for Hunt very hard or up the Brooks offer and go all out and get the young guy from Melbourne Perez or Trindal , I would spend what ever needed , we don’t need Frizzel we have that covered , our pack is very good we just need finishers

Hunt will definitely not be in Tigers colours and Brooks will not go to Dragons. Those two have suffered enough.

I'm not blaming him, I'm blaming the recruitment. What I'm saying is there were other halves looking for a chance we could have got, but we went with Wakeham. Seems odd when Hastings was considered too slow for the halves but Wakeham is slower.

No one expected him to be effective. Pointing out how bad the situation is doesn't mean we expected it to be better.

Agree 100%, keep painting ourselves into a corner. Bad Management. We're looking at back to back spoons. This Board sacked Maguire and appointed Sheens, who hasn't improved our position with a better squad.

It was pretty obvious mate. Wakeham was so bad. To'a has been significantly better in the centres. Bateman can create but he isn't a halfback.

You’re right, we have a much better squad and our performance isn’t showing improvement apart from an extra 40 odd points scored over 14 games.
Maguire would be nailing it with this team and less undermining from the board.
It doesn’t look like a Sheens coached side to me?
I think Benji is back coaching the side? Sheens did jump back in the coaches seat when Benji had us going off the rails early? Just the way it looks to me.

I don't think Hunt is comparable to Moses. I don't think he is worth it. Moses and Brooks would have been a great combination but it didn't work out.

Hunt being in the top 5 halves shows how poor the quality of halves are in the comp.

I honestly think the best chance we had was signing Brooks and Wakeham on lesser dollars and looking to develop some halves. Douieihi is also a chance to slot into that role although I think Wakeham has outplayed Doueihi this year. So the chance of Doueihi coming good is really low.
 
I’m not blaming Wakeham he can only play to his ability, but quite a few people on this forum were saying that he was better than Daine Laurie at five eighth & those people can join Tim Sheens as absolutely having no idea about team selections & being very stubborn to admit that they were wrong.

I agree.
Scapegoating a bloke who is having a go but has a shallow ceiling is weak.
He is trying to improve. He is trying different plays.
The fact he is an automatic selection is the fault of management and us fans saw this coming 6 or 7 months ago.

also the totally wrong lesson learned from us vs Storm.

So our defense slides in and a nothing player in Warbrick scores past Tupou.
How the hell is it Wakeham's fault that Tupou and AK aren't defending their side?

I saw Melbourne create that overlap so often. Clearly Melbourne knew what they were doing to exploit our defensive weaknesses. Yet what's the Topic, Fire Wakeham because a wing and Centre pairing can't defend?

Replace Wakeham with Pearce, Johnson, Hunt Anyone we have been named with. BOOM Melbourne still score 28 points against us!

Now a defensive halfback, like Moses, like DCE may be able to work with the coach and coach out the gaps. Really though the Fullback is going to have the best picture of the field and see where the gaps were. I saw Bula run in a few times and while I can fault Bula for not marshalling the troops better.... He is a bloody Basketball player and IMHO we should have coached him better!

I don't blame Bula, AJ and Tupou have had enough games playing together to realise "hey were a frigging pair of Turnstyles.". I blame Sheens for not working out a proper edge defense.

Wakeham put in a good high ball for Twal (was it wakeham or Toa?, I thought Wakeham). Yes, points to Twal for getting it down and points to whoever batted it back but IMHO that was well read. Against the Storm you are going to get very few opportunities.

I can't believe the answer is "fire the halfback" when our Wing defense and defensive structures are suffering.

It would be even harder to get a decent half coming to the club now than it was last year because now people have seen just how out of touch Tim is with the modern game and team selections.Sad to say but i feel it is highly unlikely we can attract any young half who wants to have a decent future in the game as money would not be the only criteria for someone who is ambitious,being coached by someone who can extract that ability would be paramount and Sheens is not that person
