LIVE GAME Round 16 vs. Storm

Live Game Discussion
Just to put a few things in there prospective, kepoea is a much better backrower than a centre , toupo had a shocker his hands are terrible.
But over all I thought we played well just don’t have the clever half’s to put players throw holes , papa , Bateman were great , but again we were short a big body coming of the bench, joffa would have made a difference, so for god sack where is the replacements , it’s about time we seen some movement, we got a good pack shirt maybe 1-2 and two half’s get it sorted tigers

We were in the game for a long while until they scored their 1st in the 2nd half. If we screw it down, our lack of halves & left-side defence cost us the game. Our effort to attack high kicks & ability of Tupou (despite his height) to catch cross field kicks also needs a lot of work.

Apart from some poor performances from players that are struggling at this level, there are some basic effort areas lacking with this group.
Line speed especially in our own half, kick chase, contesting our kicks, pressure on opposing kickers, quick ptb, marking up in D and communicating in D, pushing up in support in A.
All of these things are simple and do not require any special skills just effort and desire. We currently do not look like a group that want to win badly enough!
We had some urgency and intent for the first 15 mins of the second half but fell in a heap after they scored a simple try.

Good post. Hits the nail on the head.

Back to back sooons. No signings coming. 1 Jr of note in the “generational crop”. Coached by a guy who is at least a decade out of touch and the future holds a coach who’s never coached. Huge positional holes across the whole team. Shuffling deck chairs of player managers/coaches/journeyman players and there’s one constant. He makes choices some people don’t like and he dgaf.

Thank [This word has been automatically removed] that's over 🤦🏻‍♀️😭
Captured the mood perfectly S. Anyway the sun came up this morning and we move on, another 2 points in the bag this week but that’s the end of the bonuses.
By the time other teams catch up we’ll be a clear last.

Actually thought it was Bellyache who got us. He knew Kepaoa was highly suspect defensively as a centre and would have coached them to attack that side.

Hughes executed to perfection but it seemed to me that they were to well rehearsed for it to be spontaneous.
Yes...that was deliberate and very well coached.

I was disappointed Sheens did not react...at all.

It was really obvious that was their main tactic. AJ should have been hooked for not blocking out at all on kicks.

Matamua should have been on the bench. He could have come on and ToA back to center.

Talau just sat there all night and did nothing. Sheens also sat there all night and did nothing...Warbrick scored FOUR tries, and almost had five, yet we did not make a single adjustment.

Yep it was fairly obvious after the first few sets where they were going, Bellamy gave us a lesson and Sheens did nothing. I agree about Matamua being on the bench at least he could have hooked AJ or put him in the forward rotation and Toa could have gone back centre and Matamua filling in at 5/8.
I was all for the second coming of Sheens and i know the only reason he's there is to guide and deflect from Benji. But i think Sheens and his stubborn ways could be holding us back, we might get the odd game like the cowboys where everything clicks but few and far between.
I don't for a second think Warbrick is a gun footy player just average but we made him look like the second coming of Folau.

Once again you have to question the tactical nous of our coaching team.
There never seems any adjustment, for anything.
Are they brain dead or just ignorant ?

Even JT had enough sense to move Lovett after 4 tries past him,the problem is we have Sheens who is always determined to make something work even if all the evidence shows failure
