Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

what does he do at training ? do they get him practicing to take bombs? training is where you should be learning and being coached by our expert staff…

he looks to me to be lacking in confidence and he will continue to be targeted at the NRL level…maybe playing against some numpties in the seconds for a while would be good for him to get his mojo back… not sure his current form should be keeping Staines out of the side if he is fit,,
He should be catching over 100 contested bombs in training every day. Even do some extras after training with benji/richards putting up his random torpedo bombs and see how many he can catch each session.

If we're not doing this then he won't make it. And the club will miss the finals for another decade.

I'd happily take Dejarn Asi off them in a swap, apparently we were after Asi when he was off-contract originally and he went with Parra. Unsure on numbers on what Parra are prepared to pay etc, but if it does come to fruition then Asi would be the name with Brown expected to reclaim his jersey very soon that I'd be throwing around in a potential swap.

You can make the argument Parra look better with Asi at 6 than Brown..... I'd much prefer Asi over Wakeham as a backup 6 imo he has actual promise.

Should of finished the sentence at

Tupou won't learn anything.
Being a little bit harsh there but I can see what you are getting at.

Players like Junior and Starford take a step forward and start showing something and get us excited and the next minute they seem to regress, taking 2 steps backwards.

No different really to the excitement we have when we win a game or on rare occasions win 2 but never seem to string more than that together and just to rub it in we cop a record flogging to bring us back to reality.

The joys of being a Wests Tiger supporter I guess, really don't understand why we keep doing it to ourselves.

I'd love to know which of our players do extras. We know that Stefano does and I reckon Tallyn would.

I think Asi's incredibly unlikely given that they've shipped off Arthur, would leave them in a similar predicament to what we are in currently. Marshall's better off trying to get his cousin over here. Haze Dunster would be decent depth for us across the backline.

Not Haze Dunster, his defence makes Nofa look good.

Is that a coaching technique you've employed or just an opinion?

While I understand people questioning the release of Joffa, I think the maths of it is what makes the most sense- having a player on the bench on $600k isn't good business. This wasn't a 2023 decision so much as a 2023 ONWARDS decision. It's easy to blast the front office, I see it every day, but for once I think it shows a plan- no more overspending & ruining the cap mix. No more Mbye's on $800k. Brooks' offer was "low", but probably close to what he was worth. No to Schuster on $1.2m or whatever was reported.
Don't get me wrong, I understand what you are getting at but letting Joe go the way they did and making low ball offers to Brooks isn't always good business either.

Pretty stupid really when we don't have quality replacements lined up and when it actually comes down to the fact that we probably actually need 3 or 4 halves and we struggle to sign one.

Pretty stupid also when you see the real cost that I believe has been the loss of morale among the playing group which, apart from a couple of key injuries, has contributed to the magnitude of our most recent loss, certainly not helped by the meddling of the board, Chair and CEO with their efforts in undermining of the football department.

he was so bad last weekend that they still should consider moving him on for half freight,,
So nofa was the only one that was bad , I do remember on numerous occasions when they went to nofa side , he had to cover 30 - 40 meters, the blokes inside had just given up , NOT saying he was good far from it but please tell the whole story rather than push the hate crap 💩
