Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Interesting view. If that's the case that concerns me too. I think we need an on the ball 7 too. Api and the 7 controlling the middle, condensing it before shifting to Bula and hopefully a dangerous 6 playing both sides.

I know it is underwhelming on paper, but a Hawkins 7 and Taaffe 6 suit that style. Hawkins' strength is playing on the ball and controlling things with his kicking. He also condenses the defence very well like Adam Reynolds does. Taaffe and Bula hit the edges.

Simple, plain, but effective role playing by spine players.
Hawkins did not impress me when playing on weekend if i was to be honest....this was he chance to shine and like other times he has had the chance, there was a massive lack of intent.

With a few younger players emerging I can see our team being at least more than competitive in the short term. But some of the names being thrown around as potential halfback options are poor. If they were as good as many believe them to be, they'd be playing NRL. Our challenge is to find a genuine NRL halfback. None of the names being mentioned imo are NRL quality. That is why young Fainu is mentioned as he is NRL quality.

I wonder why Manly let these 2 young guys got to market , if they are as good as people say why let them go at all. , I think we need to go after a too 1/2 , plus Taafe , Trindal , Lomax

It makes you wonder why they let go of the 'next big thing' in Latu to sign Brooks. There would be a difference of about 3 to 4 hundred grand also. I smell a rat.

Taafe or Volkman is a start.But I’m assuming they’d be a Band-Aid.
The Club has most likely come to the realisation that no marquee halve will come here .
I think Benji and Co will pin their hopes on Galvin and Large.Few years away before they are anywhere near First Grade ready.
Banking on potential is always a massive risk ,unfortunately we don’t have an option.
My biggest fear is that we are still getting belted every week when we bring these kids in.I’m not sure on the solution to getting our squad competitive,I thought our pack was decent but without Api we looks terrible.

If clubs can circumvent the salary cap by offering equity in the chief sponsor's businesses then the salary cap is not worth a piece of sh*t. The NRL is such a horrendous administration that they'll probably allow it.
The article said that Storm already did it with their CEO’s betting agency to keep stars last year ( Munster?)
