Based on Sheens comments in press conferences and what Joffa said. Whether or not this is true, there are definitely issues between the coaching team and management.

I expect either Fulton, Pascoe, or Sheens to walk. Sheens has history ousting CEOs so I'd probably back Sheens to survive.

No but dragging it out has not worked for us in any of our failed player attempts, maybe time to change things up , we have the cap, put a price up that we can live with and a price they want and set the deadline , can it get any worse

Holbrook could be a really good assistant coach. Could bring new ideas, access to disgruntled GC players (eg Tanah Boyd if they sign Hunt) and has English connections. Not keen on him as a head coach but as an assistant it is at least worth thinking about.

I wouldn't mind Holbrook coming in as an assistant coach. What's wrong with that?

If there is even the slightest truth in WTs speaking to Holbrook and if that doesn't convince you that the leadership is the biggest handbrake to anyone wanting a bar of this club I don't know what will convince you
I don't know if Sheens and Benji are the answer, but the club - through Lee H - has been selling the five year plan with Sheens as the man to lead us out and Benji to take over yet he continues to undermine him.
Is it any wonder no players buy what we are selling when the plan is constantly changing.

Clear as day the main decision makers for the Sheens benji deal should be looked at.

If by some chance (and I'd say it's 1%) Sheens & Benji are outed, that would have to spark the end for the Chairman & CEO as that would be further proof their decisions are poor.

However there is no way Benji is ousted with his love for the club & pathways and Sheens is a stubborn as an old mule.

I can only see it is as Holbrook being sussed as an assistant. Let's hope Sheens & Benji are in on the conversation this time.
 
The way I'm starting to see our potential recruits are they will be players with desire to prove a point & buy into the club.

The ones that knock us back seem to just use us as bargaining chips and are only keen on short-term success coupled with $$$.

So yes pathways is the right way for us to go and I'll be intrigued by our more mature recruits over the next 1-2 seasons as I reckon they'll come with the profile for us (much like Scott Prince, Brett Hodson, Pat Richards, Shane Elford, Paul Whatuira, Todd Payten provided back in the day).
 
I know the Sheens appointment has had many of us split down the middle since it's announcement, and despite seeing some on-field improvement in the way we have played football, the results have been dire.

But one huge positive for me is that it has really exposed Pascoe and Hepatitis being completely out of their depth. Say what you want about Tim Sheens but he knows how to play the game, and the way he answers questions to the media, and in post game press conferences present enough of an insight into the management of the entire organisation, for us to see the blood he is leaving in the water. The bread crumbs are being dropped. Whatever cliché you want to use.

As a fan, their leadership seems completely untenable, and if the current amount of pressure is sustained or increased, that pressure will spill over into club management - someone is going to fall and I think they're going to fall very soon.

I have no doubts Benji is regretting ever being involved again.

Deadlines are common in business and can work in the right circumstances. I'm convinced Moses went back and forth between us and Parramatta until the bidding stopped but was always going to sign with Parramatta.

I don't doubt that but I'm yet to see an example of it being effective in rugby league. Can you think of one?

Considering deadlines are frequently leaked or become common knowledge, often before that time period has lapsed, I'd say that a player then subsequently signing prior to that date would be a fair indication that it enticed them to make that decision in that time frame. And I'll reiterate, I cannot think of a single example.

What I can point to, is a myriad of examples of it having the opposite effect. Most recently of course, being Brooks, with that very sentiment being a key factor in his turning down our offer (straight from his own mouth).

A better approach, in my opinion, is to continue negotiations, while shadow-exploring other options simultaneously.

Well, by definition, failed player attempts are just that, whether we dragged it out or placed a deadline.

There are a considerable number of variables that contribute to a failed signing, but placing a decision deadline on a player during negotiations is a way to fast-track a rejection, particularly over continued negotiations.
'Changing things up' to a less-successful approach is silly.

...In my opinion.

Mole is drip-fed by Sheens.

Seems there's quite the powerplay going on at the moment. But Sheens is on a hiding to nothing if he continues to air his dirty laundry through the media as I suspect may have been the case here.

A draft needs to happen in some form. I just can't see the anchor that is the RLPA allowing the discussion in any capacity right now.
