Anyway for a good story. Here are the comments from Sheens on Bula I believe prior to his debut. I sense that our younger players like Faagutu and De Silva have the same training ethic as Bula. Feledy needs to work hard on his fitness but has the talent.

Despite Bula being thrown into the deep end as he learns the nuances of being a fullback, coach Tim Sheens believes he will be a difference-maker.

“Jahream Bula will be a kid who comes out of nowhere,” Sheens told The Sydney Morning Herald.

“I’m not afraid to throw blokes in, and if they’re good enough they’re old enough.”

“This kid (Bula) has been playing fullback all year in the second team. And he has been the best trainer at the club.”

Other teams have worked out that there's no need to get in the grind with us.
Todd Payten did id it best that if you go set for set with us we'll hang in there all game, but if you go wide early and often and make our halfwit backs make decisions it's an easy win.
There was a point that it looked like we had 3 weapons in the backs. Turns out we've got 1 weapon and 2 cap guns.
Picking Asu on a wing is just crazy. He's a reserve forward or nothing.

It was a great call by Tim, that’s for sure.
He needs to be removed from head coach and put back in the footy director role. That’s where he will be an asset.

I still like him a lot. He can beat players. He is making bad decisions and mistakes and it's not acceptable but that stuff can be worked on.

His ability to actually beat players is something we don't have in our team.

Getting sick of seeing targets running around with other teams yet we can’t entice anyone , are we scared of offering money over what we think there worth . The knights have gone to England and pulled two good backs to come next year , there is so many young 1/2s who are stuck behind players who will be there for years yet we can’t get them to come over , I CALL bullshit we not going in hard enough , watched never French and play 5/8 this morning he was great , Maitua the backrower the day before right up there with what we got would be a great catch . We were going to through 1.4 million at Moses , so why can’t we take a stab at French , and Sam Walker spend the 1.4 million on them two and give our team what they need two 1/2s with speed and who can play of the cuff because we have nothing going for us with the crap we have now . I know that can’t be helped I ie we can’t stop playing) but I’m sure we all watch on the telly and see mistakes that you rarely see in well coached junior teams.

I disagree a little. That game against Newcastle showed we have plenty to work with. Our pack isn't bad. We have two quality players in the spine.

I think the big issue is the lack of talent available in the positions where we are desperate. That leads to massive contracts to marquee players like Moses who get the same money at their current club so we don't get them or taking a risk with an ESL or development player.

Talau has to learn to pass to his winger in space and not rush up in defence and fail to communicate this to Tupou. He is doing his winger no favours especially considering he is a rookie.

He’s been doing that for a long time, think it comes about by being told you’re a special player at a young age.
A lot of centres in the NRL have similar issues, they can’t set their winger up properly so they completely ignore them.

Noticeably disgrace.

We need up grade 2 to 7 desperately.

Will Hopoate would be a good signing if he wanted to come back to Oz, even if it's just to play cup and fill in when needed. Class act - bring some professionalism to the squad and help build the culture.

Despite being old and slow, he's better than all our options.

Other than that... Lomax, Parker, Vaega, Weeks, Tass, Strange.. there's options out there, we need to be talking to.

Most clubs do their video sessions in slow motion to highlight certain things, Sheens and co just have to do it at normal speed coz the effect is the same !

Yep. Two fast wingers would make a massive difference. Maybe Tupou can fill one spot but he isn't real quick. We desperately need Staines in the team.

Ha ha ha .. no they are NOT !! 10 years of choking !! 10’years of no semis !! Jesus you people need to move on from Brooks !! He did Not get it done for us , and then left when we finally stopped overpaying him.. I cannot wrap my head around the excuses and nonsense people rave on about with regards to him.. statistically he suck’s as a halfback .. in 10 years in a comp that half the teams make the semis to be the halfback and not make it he semis is highly improbable and yet Luke’s failures Broke the odds .. that is saying something

We did better with brooks in this team than without. I’ll expect we will go up a gear if he gets back this season. Only thing that could stop us getting another spoon.

This is what gets me. Those players aren't great. I'd keep Wakeham and maybe Smith. I reckon Wakeham has been great for us. He kicks goals consistently and his defense is great. He is a reserve grader playing NRL and performing. I honestly don't think Hastings was any better last night and I haven't seen anything this year to suggest Hastings is better than Wakeham but Wakeham costs a lot less.

The issue is though bringing in quality players. Trindall, Taafe and Croft are guys that maybe improve us a bit but I can't see massive improvements from those guys. We need like two more Bula's in the halves and a gun outside back. Then we can reassess. That might not be enough.

He is dead set slow. Has a great step and biding his time before moving to the centres. Maybe in lower grades to start.

I tend to agree but depends on how much we offer him. Brooks signed for 700 at manly I think so if Croft is 500 off the cap then I’m all for it. If similar amounts then we are not any better off other than a change of scenery.

I'm sure Croft wont be on that size deal even if it is "Like for Like"?

He is dead set slow. Has a great step and biding his time before moving to the centres. Maybe in lower grades to start.

He got beat by Dom Young last night and he just looked slow chasing but I suppose that is Dom Young. He is a threat with the ball and he can belt it back hard.

He isn't a sure thing at this point. I hope he makes it but he needs to work on his game.
