Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If you’re the coach, you should be able to pick your players to a large extent. Yes, it should go through a recruitment process but ultimately the coach’s fate is decided by infield results.

Ideally, recruitment and the coach should work harmoniously however the way Fulton was appointed was always going to end up in disruption. I think it is best for all that he moves on and at least stop some of the media stories.

I also think either Lee and Pascoe (or both) who are responsible for this situation should fall on their sword.

Absolutely the coach and recruitment manager should be on the same page. The coach should be on the selection committee for the role and should have the final say otherwise we end up in a mess eg missing out on players we desperately need so the aggressive recruitment program becomes a disaster. We may get scoffs of mock sympathy from other clubs.

I hope I'm wrong but he's been very unimpressive in Super League. So many mistakes in his game.
I think you're the most aware on here when it comes to super league, so I always take your comments serious in regards to this...

Hopefully he'll go up a gear returning to Oz though, the last few years left in the game for him.

The Sezer news can’t be real can it ?
He’s not even in the top 20 halves in the UK and would be one of the rare halves who is now slower than Wakeham.
If true, surely he’s only being signed as a back up ?

In principal I agree. The coach is the one accountable so needs input into the recruitment. But its a bit like politics, because its the coaches job at stake he can make decisions for the now which aren't necessarily good for the future. I think its the job of the recruiment manager to be a little more future focused. In this case Cogger and Sezar are probably a much of a muchness really. At least sezar has some experience.
