Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The DT are reporting that Parramatta Eels are closing in on signing Joey Lussick. Josh Hodgson has been ruled out for the remainder of the season and Parra are looking for a hooker before the August 3 deadline. Jake Simpkin has been discussed but Lussick’s knowledge of the Eels system/players & coaching staff makes him preferable. It would be for 2023 & 2024.
Anyone ever noticed how the Lussick brothers have long giraffe necks?

We have the makings of a good team with Bula, Tupou, Toa, Pole, Utoikamanu, Klemmer, Api, Bateman, Blore, Twal, Da Silva. They have their work cutout though with the rest of the roster. If the Fainu boys show some promise along with Feledy, Galvin, Faagatu, Lauilli etc there is something building for 2025.

Recruitment has to be spot on at this point in the halves, centre and wing. We need some strike weapons out wide and two additional halves. We need speed.
Based on what we have now the kid from Manly will start day one which is not wise.

Latu is very impressive but still not sold on Samuela. Chris Faagutu looks a better prospect imo... I reckon we'll see a debut from him next year.
We have to manage this right. Quite a few times I have seen us recruit players with connections and it goes south.

BJ Leulia with Luchiano L... We sack elder bro, loose younger.

Daine Laurie recruits Brent Naden here. Laurie shelved and Naden will probably leave soon.

We piss off Samuela, well Latu will walk back to Manly. I think Fulton will get this and I hope Benji gets this too. We haven't managed dropping people very well so far.

Samuela Fainu and Chris Faagatu are very different players.
Samuela is very tall and looks quite athletic for a man of his size. He mainly plays on an edge and is potentially a very good tackle busting edge forward that we are lacking.
The fact he can also play as a middle is an added advantage as it gives he and the team flexibility.
Fasgatu is a much shorter more compact type of middle forward who looks like he winds up with every carry and has the knack of getting quick play the balls.
He looks a very good prospect, but not really suitable to play on an edge.

It makes you wonder what Manly were thinking. Talau is an absolute liability although athletically he's an impressive specimen, he has no football IQ at all.
This is why Manly are in for a WORLD OF HURT.

Tommy Talau is managed by Issac Moses.
Issac Moses manages 19/30 signed players at Manly. Oh and Brooks, Talau and other guys under Issac Moses.

Brisbane actually got rid of a stack of Issac Moses signed players when they got rid of Siebold.

Now we have huge issues. We should have smashed St George. To loose 18/14 against the other wooden spooner side shows we have huge issues. But at least things are looking up

Next season we are going to start having a forward logjam.

Klemmer, Utoikamanu, Bateman, Papali'i, Blore/Pole are already there.

Twal & Seyfarth are in the mix.

James is looking like he fits as well.

Faagutu, Fainu are likely in contention.

Matamua on the fringe.

Lualilii & Tumeth, Jordan Miller & Mansfield as well.

Almost getting to the stage you don't WANT to add too much from outside the squad so as to not hinder the pathways for these promising kids.

I expect some difficult contract choices coming up for the popular star names in a year or two. Can we see how Joffa was let go?

You’re obviously real up on the news real well - Manly put out a statement of who managers how many of their players…

Moses currently manages 5/39 players counted and is 4th on the list behind Tarak and the Orrs amongst others

Apologies for adding reality to your lovely little fairytale here…
Seibold is a client of Isaac Moses & within the last 10 months Manly have signed 3 clients of Moses. They’ve also signed Luke Brooks, Tommy Talau & Jaxson Paulo who are all under his management as well 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

And that equals 19?
I’m well aware Moses manages the coach there - and of the issues at the Broncos…

Moses is one of the higher profile agents in the game (out of only a handful) 17 teams each with 40 odd contracted players… simple mathematics let’s you assume he’s going to have a few in each team doesn’t it?

The amount he had at the Broncos was certainly overkill - but I’d expect 6-8 at almost every club would be pretty standard.
I think the issue is the amount of Moses clients that have ended up at Manly in Seibs short time there & Manly’s statement doesn’t really do anything to nullify that
