I hate these development contracts....you are either good enough or you are not.
To have a development contract and then top 30 spot baked in is terrible. What if that player has not progressed enough?? That said player is then taking up a spot that could be used to recruit someone else.

Train and trial contracts are even worse. Just ranting.

To me, I honestly think Development contracts are great.

League needs to own it's injuries.
Israel Filou started when he was really really young. Started on the wing against us.
From memory he was 17 years old.
You have teenagers who are still growing, bones are still setting. They are not ready for first grade.

Development makes sense. Hire a player who will be first grade soon but isn't ready yet.

Not just your mouth but playing the game correctly. Don't do stupid stuff and show a bit of flair inconsistently but enough to fool the people that pay your wages.

I learned at my job the trick was to get to a decent salary and then do as little as possible.
