That’s nice but can he tackle and play footy? 😄If we got Kaeo Weekes he would bring something we need and that is express speed - won the gps 100m in 10.98 seconds in 2019

Please NO full of mistakes heart of SharronWhat about Faitala-Mariner as an option. We don’t look like Frizell is a chance, maybe RFM could be good for us.
In my slippersJust a little quicker than I can do it 😂😂😂
Absolutely. The club initially felt it needed an experienced, strategic and well connected person to do the job, and got Sheens.Same process should happen for a GM. Need someone very experienced for that role and I’d rather we headhunted someone from a successful club for that gig.
I agree. We need Robbie to have the experience first, which can be done over time if we deem he has the right leadership qualities. But there is something about having a leader with passion for the club. Who will go that extra mile for success. They are two very independent guys. Don't assume they're best of buddies.
Robbie loves the club, and while that can come across as 'Jobs for the boys'. I personally have no issues with it.
I know a number of ex-tiger players who just saw it as a job. Where as us fans are the passionate ones.
Robbie is a fan as well as being an ex-player
For them or Wests Tigers?I suspect in the long run effectively swapping Brooks and Talau for the Fainu boys will go down as a huge heist.
The guy that employed him and his cronies.Out of curiosity, Who did you blame for the Shambles before Pascoe?
Serious question...
You weren't born yesterday - I've asked a few times,
You only deflect it with more Pascoe bagging or label me his love child or some such....
I'm not a staunch defender of Pascoe at all
- The crap that happens around here has been happening well before him, He just stirs it different.
(Which really seems to grind your gears)
He's not the first CEO of the club, There was plenty before him, Although
- If one were to read your rants, It seems like he's exceptionally responsible for 2 and a bit decades of failure.
I remember Sheens going to war with a CEO who tried to put KPI's in his contract and hold him accountable.... Sheens won - CEO sacked...
This place has been run like back alley pool hall since day dot... But you know this.
I like that your saying as well, Here's a couple more for you....
You can't sew a silk purse from a sows ear...
And another -
No matter how much sugar you mix with pigshite... You'll never get fairy floss.
Well written Sir.For anyone in the know, how do the WT stack up against the other clubs in terms of providing services for players that allow them to focus on footy?
For example, we ask guys like Bateman to uproot their family and travel to the other side of the world, do we offer things to make that journey easier, things like organising temporary accommodation, organising schooling for players kids, providing events for partners and families to make some connections in the club (potentially strengthening player ties to the club). And it's not just from the UK, moving from NZ or Queensland or even Newcastle, all require a period of adjustment.
I'm not saying that WTs need to do everything, I understand that each player still needs to take some responsibility for their own lives and success. But do WTs at least offer assistance in these areas to allow players to simply play and train for footy?
You see it in other fields, plenty of large corporate industries offer relocation assistance and additional compensation. Attracting players is not simply about money or success, if you give them confidence that they are in an environment that will help them produce their best footy that might just be enough. The COE is a great start, but the administration support needs to be there too.
He has been pretty sucessful in every coaching job he has had. I'm guessing Ivan poached him.I can see why Webster has been successful in his first Head Coach job. He’s pretty impressive. I saw a positive change in the Tigers when he stepped in for 2 games.
I think his team is the smoky.
Just forget why we moved him on?
I absolutely think he will. What happens if Benji is a garbage coach, do you trust Robbie to do the right thing for the club and tap his mate on the shoulder?
Sorry mate but I wouldn't rely on anything Roach said. Very good footballer but as dumb as a bag of rocks.Don't really know what you mean by that....
I think WT's have all the potential in the world...
Unfortunately, That rarely (if ever) becomes reality....
Bit of a Story, I ran into Blocker in the 05-06 off season at a function or some such out west...
Asked him how he thought the Tigers will back up after winning the comp - He laughed at me, and said "They're not the Balmain Tigers mate"
Then followed it up with, "They should never have won that comp - It was the worst thing that could ever happen to them"
I never really knew what he meant by that, Or why a Footy Legend with a distant tie to the club
would be saying it so close to winning the comp...
Hindsight, Being 20 odd years older, The Internet / Media and being a bit more versed in the reality of the
Wests Tigers..
What he said doesn't surprise me now.
You get me wrong is all, I'd be happy to be proven wrong.... Been waiting a long time though.
What if Robbie is a crap boss?I absolutely think he will.
He hates failure.
A man who still uses the term “easy walk to the 20” as you see the fullback running like a bat out of hell to tap and go on zero tackle.Sorry mate but I wouldn't rely on anything Roach said. Very good footballer but as dumb as a bag of rocks.
That bag of rocks help put Balmain on the map. Just like Dallas Donnelly for the Magpies.Sorry mate but I wouldn't rely on anything Roach said. Very good footballer but as dumb as a bag of rocks.
Agree totally and Dallas was no mental giant either. It's just that, having heard Blocker on the radio and TV over many years, I don't rate his opinion outside of the play he's watching. He couldn't call WT by their correct name for years. Kept on calling them Balmain. That bag of rocks help put Balmain on the map. Just like Dallas Donnelly for the Magpies.
What if Robbie is a crap boss?
I hear your Sir. Loud and clear. But will he be judged on that on his final day or his passion?Agree totally and Dallas was no mental giant either. It's just that, having heard Blocker on the radio and TV over many years, I don't rate his opinion outside of the play he's watching. He couldn't call WT by their correct name for years. Kept on calling them Balmain.
Okay. You are an insider. No disrespect here. Thanks for the intel. Again. Time will tell. Maybe what they always thought of each other on field will come to fruition off field.I have no gauge on whether he'll be good or not, all I am saying is I absolutely think he would sack Benji if he thought it was needed.
