Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Was talking with my Rooster's mate today talking about his time at the Cowboys he has some crazy stories about them also we started talking about the Panthers he knows a few of the players and he told me that one of the Panthers spine players was so happy for Andrew Webster he said that when Webster was at the Panthers Cameron Ciraldo got alot of the credit for Webster's great work

Webster told the Warriors players that they have to stay out of the fridge to be
Successful

Ciraldo won't last more then another year the Tigers dodge a bullet
God I hope it plays out like that and we come good and dogs stay in the gutter

How many of those will stick around a wooden spoon club on a train and trial? Can't see Brown or Stevanovic rejoining us. James sure try keep, maybe Saukuru too. The rest, meh. Hiroti would be a decent back on a train and trial for us. Think he's turned us down twice already though
You may be right there @balmain boy but I hold out hope Fulton can put a new sell on our club to be part of an exciting future under Benji (even with a Cup 2nd tier contract).

If the likes/types of a Falls or Hawkins can’t secure a top 30 contract anywhere & don’t want to go to Super League, they may see a better chance of getting a 1st Grade opportunity at WTs (as a Cup contracted player).

As it stands we have 3 vacancies for 2024.

So based on what we need & what's on the market my thoughts are:

In order of priority:
1. Sezer (1 + 1 deal)
2. Croft (2 years & MO for the 3rd)
3. Parker (2 years)
4. Staines (2 years)
5. James (3 years)
6. Austin or Sullivan (1 + 1 deal)

To get those 6 players we need to release 3. For me Simpkin, Nofoaluma, Reilly or Ngatikuara.

Then could look like:

NRL
Bula, Tupou, To'a, Parker, Staines, Croft, Sezer, Utoiukamanu, Korosaui, Klemmer, Papalii, Bateman, Blore, Austin/Sullivan, Pole, Twal, James

NSW Cup
?, Naden, Kepaoa, Feledy, ?, Fainu, Galvin, ?, Da Silva, ?, Fainu, Mansfield, Matamua, ?, Tumeth, Fainu, ?, ?

Haven't accounted for Doueihi.

Austin & Sezer wouldn't be the worst option, tested combo. Adds experience to the halves you'd think you get Austin for bugger all, plays cup if Fainu comes on really quick.

Gives all the young guys opportunity to build confidence, get some form on the board & come into NRL strong.

Adds depth where we don't have it.

Sezer goes Croft to 7, Galvin to 14 in 2025 or 2026.

Try to sign a big name or two for 2025.
