Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

As we already assumed, TDS into the top 30 squad for next season. The next confirmation into top 30 I reckon will be Chris Faagutu.
That is a very cynical deal on behalf of TDS manager I feel. At the end of 2025, Api will still have a year to run on his deal and will be winding down most likely so TDS agent will be able to go to market and/or hold us to ransom.

mark my words... sullivan is going to be another shite signing... Flanno has shifted him onto us... because he knows how to rebuild a roster...

my father turned 80 this year... he loves saying "he who lives in hope, dies in hope"...

Sullivan is another "hope" signing... another guy who has a poor reputation at another club -- but that "we will get the best out of him... because he needs a change, needs a go, we have the best coaches who are similar to him etc etc"...

The guy has a bad attitude to training, a string of hamstring issues, and was unwanted, has played a handful of games and is unproven - yet we have taken him for 3 years? lol. to be our what 6, 7? start as 6 and then move to 7 when Sezer leaves so Fainu can play 6? Can be our #14 if he doesnt work at 6 or 7? So basically like another Douehi or Mbye -- they worked out well. lol.

My cousin is a major sponsor of the dragons -- speaks to the coaches -- goes into the dressing before and after games -- and said everyone is glad to see him leave... Flanno was just bluffing they wouldnt chip in... and now we are getting him lol
Worth the Risk for Me.

They took

Mbye
Musgrave and Liddle

Sullivan is a risk, no doubt, but he's 21 which is very young for a half.

It's important to remember Moses left us he was 22 and I think most of us thought he was a weak person, a tanker, and absolutely not a game manager. He's still an unlikeable person, but he's matured into a top halfback.

Time will tell if he develops like Moses or like Brooks. Admittedly we haven't done well with this in the past.
Moses was a lot better than brooks when he left our Club, and kept improving.
Brooks was the same then, and still remains the same to this day, just never improved at all.

Nobody wanted to admit it because he turned
on us, but it was as clear as day that Moses
was the better of the 2, he just needed to grow
up physically and mentally. Always better though -
running, linking, passing, kicking, goal kicking.
Glad to see the back of Brooks after 10 years
of failures, not just on his part but failures none
the less. Happy to give some new halves a crack

Ok, who do you suggest we get instead?

I wouldn't mind Max Feagai. Good pedigree, good size. We have worse outside backs than him playing first grade this weekend.

Moses was better when they played Flegg. I think I mentioned it at the time!

Seyfarth has been one of our most creative, if not our most creative forwards prior to his injury. His ball playing has seen our forwards make breaks/half breaks and his impact off the bench is good. He would also be on a modest contract which is required in a 30 player squad. Why spend all the time nuturing him, after all he has come through our juniors only to let him leave so another club can enjoy all our hardwork?
Who are you moving on from our current top 30 for next season to accommodate him? And there is most definiltey only room for a mximum of one of either Seyfarth and Tasi James. Who are you picking?

Would Seyfarth even take another one year deal with us?

He's still a weak forward that struggles in attack and defence.

i hope you're right...

but again thats hope...

he takes up $500K worth of space and a potential "half" signing we could go for next year ... not an insignificant... plus its a 3 Year deal -- not 2.

if it was 2 - then id say ok - worse case you carry him for a year... but we always take players for that extra year too long IMO
There is not a chance in hell we'd be looking at signing him for 3 years at 500k. Not in a million years would he get an offer like that from any club.
He's still essentially a nobody with potential. Dragons got suckered in.

At 2 years x 300-350k he's a decent backup that may progress. And a mutual/club option for a third year.
