Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Might be right Teddy just can't see it. Still think it will be the Broncs, Roosters or Storm if they can clean their cap up enough to fit him in. Can't see him joining a team trying to claw its way up the ladder. He's a beast though he'd be an awesome signing. Not too sure about his eunterage though.
Interesting story about Haas - before he signed with Brisbane he was pretty much a done deal to go to Melbourne as there was a verbal agreement. Bennett was made aware of Haas's pending switch to Melbourne and gave him a call (coaching Brisbane at the time) and convinced him to sign with Brisbane instead. Melbourne have been and still are filthy over this - wouldn't be surprised if they go extra hard at Haas to pry him away.

He is a great player but there is no way we should be spending the sort of money he is after for a prop.We have made many foolish recruitment decisions in the past and this would probably beat them all in rank stupidity. We need halves and centres far more than props

Same he will get 1.15 - 1.2 million a year from someone. If there's no third party agreements then that's ten percent of your cap on a prop. That's hoping he doesn't start whinging and whining every year for a pay rise. He is awesome though a generational talent.

Yeah I think if it's not the Broncs it's them or I can see uncle Nick going all out for him. I'd imagine the money he wants though there might be a few Storm players in the window. Might be worth Fulton giving them a ring and making a few enquiries over any players we might fancy. Not often the Storm are in a position where they feel a need to offload players. That's just my speculation though.

jayden just finished medical
he is just getting his haircut in the COE for a press shot

staines $$ is a big consideration to stay
on a big deal currently, it would be considerably less
So Staines is on more now than we are offering him for next contract , this sound poor again , are we low balling him or is the coin offered worth it to him to stay , he is young and a good player with speed ,

I have a feeling we are not chasing players yet and are waiting till season end , them dump our poor players and try finding better from the scrap heap again , we should be all over players now for 24 onwards , bloody hell it never changes , last year , Wakeman wow we signed him , yep from the scrap heap he was going back to work as a plumber , that’s the quality and I’m not having a crack at him personally just his ability in the nrl , nobody wanted him and for good reason

Cheers @kade7 hopefully Staines sees his opportunity here as greater than elsewhere plus the support the club provided through his bowel op.

Also do you sources have any updates on potential outside back targets if we can release enough players?
