Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Paying Olam a good wicket and paying a shittin for that Howarth is where the problem is...
Been wondering why Seve is getting a start over him.
They need to move him....

Yeah bro, can't get him away from QLD I think.
Seve has been ok for them but they invested
500k on Jack for 5 years purportedly. Crazy

With Good Reason....

I'm a little on the fence with Olam.
He's not got a lot of miles in him being a late starter, Super smart - hard worker and professional....
He's been a bit down on form coming back from injuries,
Never felt that's why he'd been sent back to ressies....

Kaito reminded me of Howarth and the penny dropped....
Didn't they sign the kid for 500k a year - just out of school?
Howarths a backrower now that he is filled out. Don't think he has played in the centres for a couple years.

Also great to see seve doing well. This is why storm are my second team. Good player selection
While I recognise their systems, the choice of coach and players, I can never go over their founder John Ribot, and will never forget and forgive the damage he's done to the League, and especially to the Bears and Souths.
That is why los comancheros are my most hated club by miles.

Manu not interested in bidding war

Joseph Manu’s agent has declared he has no interest in testing the open market when his client becomes a free agent on November 1.
This masthead spoke to Manu’s agent Peter Brown on Monday and asked him if there was an appetite to enter a bidding war for the superstar centre’s services.

Brown indicated there was no desire to do so and the Roosters are confident of getting a deal done with him in the coming months.
Manu is entrenched at the Roosters. His younger brother is in the club’s junior system and his father has a close relationship with key figures at the Roosters.

There will be plenty of speculation over what Manu’s best position is in the future.
But the Roosters are confident he won’t be wearing another team’s jersey despite reports on the weekend from Sun Herald columnist Danny Weidler that incoming Dragons coach Shane Flanagan had earmarked him as a priority target on November 1.

Howarth now 20yo, according to NRL.com has played 15 Q Cup games this year for 3 tries.
He signed a 5 year deal (reported to be worth $500k a year) unsure if that was an NRL contract.
Aside from that not much noise.

EDIT: it is an NRL contract

If I was Ciraldo, I'd be worried about "he has the full support of the board" statement.

They'll use Ciraldo for the purpose they intended to which was luring as many of the Panthers current crop over as possible. Probably the end game being Luai, they'll give him a season from that point and if he's not in the top 4 or challenging he'll be cast aside.

Brooks gets farewell I wonder who else gets the see you later ,
I’m predicting
Brooks , Tuki Simpkins , Jake Simpkin , Tommy T , Laurie , Seyfarts , Reilly , Smith , Wakeman

I remember he knocked back a big money offer from the Warriors last time he was off contract, to resign with the Roosters. The "extras" must be awesome to keep him there at half price.

Question: now that Holbrook has signed on as a Rooster's assistant, who will we/should we get as the "experienced assistant" we told Tartak/Fainus we were going to install?
Would Adrian Lam come as an assistant to a battling club, or wait for a head coaching role now that's he's the king (after Leigh's win)? If not him, who should we target?
