I would have thought that a professional journalist would at least attempt to find out the actual reason for Pascoe's non attendance ie. Likewise Pascoe should provide more detail. Simply saying "a prior engagement" isn't enough.

Yes but if pooper did that it is possible he would no longer have his daily headline, working for the largest spreader of lies in the world (Murdoch Media) you can not afford to have either scruples or truth and accuracy

A smart journo would already know what the prior commitment was. If it is indeed something ridiculous. He releases the story as shown above then follows up with another story about what Pascoe was actually doing. The aim is to keep people reading and clicking.

Last year we were struggling and this year its worse but back to last year .
Any CEO who makes a decision to let the cameras in and star in his movie highlighting every bit of dirty laundry at the Wests Tigers to the League World lacks judgement !
Did he really believe that the pros would outweigh the cons ?
Note the club has often been referred to as a basket case and other unflattering terms
and attracting stars has been difficult and this is not only due to on field results but also off field issues .
IMO the making of "Tales from Tiger Town " shows serious lack of judgement
No other club would do it !

Pascoe and Don Lee have to be the two most incompetent but self assured executives in the game. It was their idea to hire Sheens to review their coaching department. It was their idea to try and tempt Ciraldo with a mega deal. It was their idea to sack Maguire and hire Sheens based off Sheens feedback. It was their idea to hire Sheens for 2 years and give Benji a 5 year contract with a promotion after 2 years. It was also their idea to hire a recruitment manager who was at odds with Benjis vision. Now it's their idea to get rid of Sheens and potentially get rid of Benji if they can convince a coach it's worth it. Yet they never seem to be on the chopping block.

The club made a play to sign experienced former Titans coach Justin Holbrook recently, but he opted to join the Roosters.

Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis and chief executive Justin Pascoe are also believed to be eyeing former Sharks coach John Morris, currently an assistant at Souths.

"They sounded out both of them and Benji is their next target," a source close to the club said.

"They don't think Benji is ready for a head coach role with no experience at that level, particularly with such a young team that has been struggling."

It's common knowledge that Marshall does not get on with the Tigers' new recruitment boss Scott Fulton, who wields considerable power at the club.

The Tigers are expected to offer Sheens to continue in his role as director of football next season - but the veteran coach may choose to walk away from the club entirely.

Another former club great, current assistant coach Robbie Farah, is set to be handed a senior football management role once Sheens moves aside.

If we get Robert Farah the Wests Tigers flag will fly high.

We found Pascoe......
How many weeks holiday per year does a Wests Tigers CEO get, can HR check his leave balance ?
Wouldn’t it or should it not be a condition of employment that any NRL staff member must only take leave outside of the regular NRL season ?

The Roar

Playmaker Luke Brooks has fired a withering parting shot at club bosses, warning Wests Tigers will never snap out of their cycle of failure if the front office doesn’t get its house in order.

Brooks will play his final home game for the club against the Dolphins on Saturday before leaving for Manly next year.

The 28-year-old has become a whipping boy for the Tigers’ woes over the last 11 seasons but the fact the joint venture has cycled through five permanent head coaches in that time hasn’t helped his cause.

Benji Marshall is set to step up as head coach in 2024 after current mentor Tim Sheens’ decision to move aside at the end of this season.

But Brooks warned Marshall could only do so much, pointing to the club’s bumbling administration as a reason for the Tigers’ 12-year finals drought.

Brooks’ camp was frustrated they were rushed into a decision over his future earlier this year when he was given a deadline while weighing up between an extension or a move to Manly.
“When they did that it made my mind up,” Brooks told reporters.

Asked what needed to change at the Tigers, Brooks said: “Everyone being on the same page and making decisions, and the right decisions, for the club to go forward.

“I don’t know who makes the decisions here, it’s hard to say.

“There’s always something going on. I guess (after) 10 years here, I’m sort of used to it.”

Brooks’ dig at the club’s hierarchy follows an 18-month period of turmoil headlined by the sacking of previous coach Michael Maguire.

The former Souths mentor was axed by Sheens, who had been brought in as the Tigers’ head of football and was then installed as head coach.

Sheens and Maguire clashed over football decisions before the latter’s sacking and there has been similar friction between Marshall and newly appointed recruitment boss Scott Fulton.

The pair have already clashed over recruitment decisions.

Prop Stefano Utoikamanu said Marshall commanded the respect of the Tigers squad but conceded the rookie coach would be under immense scrutiny. “It’s been pretty s**t this season,” he said of a campaign that looks likely to end with a second successive wooden spoon.

“He’s been good trying to keep us on track for the year. Anyone coming into the head coach role is going to have a lot of pressure on them.” The Roar.

I don't' think taking anything from the Mole regarding the club is a wise idea. He was close to Sheens, that's it. He'll be out to look after his mate and bag the club. That's how media works these days
