Oh that’s easy, disruptive , sulking, egotistical bastard who thinks his you know what doesn’t stink.
I have said from the day the coaching team was announced imo he should t be anywhere near it.
Apart from that he’s had good food experience, maybe we can put him in charge of catering at LO and CS. Perfect.

He has an economics degree, which aren't worth the paper they're printed on btw.

The companies I worked for over many years in business all liked to freshen their leadership teams every few years to prevent their leaders becoming stale and less effective. You can stay too long in a job, especially these kind of jobs.

What a load of crap....
The club is guilty of many things - But playing Laurie out of position isn't one of them.
We've been through this before - At length....
He's literally played less than a handful of of games in the halves since he came to Penrith in junior reps.

He's always been a fullback in Sydney, We bought him as a fullback, and it wasn't until his second year here that the gloss wore of him and everyone saw him for what he was and then seemingly invented the narrative that he was a half that we'd destroyed by playing him at fullback.
He played in the halves in ressies and was moved quickly from there as well...
He may play as well there this week, He may not - Sheens can say what he likes about him, I don't buy it....
Also remember Sheens saying not long ago that Doueihi ws the best Fullback at the club - Worked out well...

Daine's off to play in the pre NRL games for the Panthers like most of our discards that head further west for glitz and glamour. Good luck to him, He's a good kid.... His work ethic sucks arse though.
BB , he hasnt always been a full back. Played 5/8 almost his entire junior career then was relocated to full back.

I've heard similar from people in positions to know.

What do you consider his 'junior career' - Park Footy in Grafton Ghosts when he was 15-16?
All through Ball, 20's, Ressies to first grade - He played FB
(Apart from the less than a handful of games coming back from injury)
That's the only junior footy I'm really concerning myself with
- Any other is nothing more than a poorly documented myth...
If you don't believe me, It's all on the NSWRL site - Look for yourself....

But I'm saving you the hassle by telling you he's barely played in the halves in ANY footy
- Since 2017-2018 (6 Years ago)

.
Apologies, I stand corrected , I believed he had played 5/8 in Penrith juniors.

Don’t understand this sudden push for Robbie to take on the GM of footy job?
It was only a few months ago he was saying his business interests kept him far too busy to make a commitment of more than 2 seasons.
Said his sports business is global and takes him out of Oz regularly. Has he wound up his business commitments to focus on getting Tigers up into the bottom 8?

How the West was Lost
If you’ve ever wondered how the ‘members’ of Wests Tigers have been left without any voice and democratic process ignored, you need to consider this:
In 1999, the members of Wests and Balmain voted to form the Wests Tigers Joint Venture. There was an undertaking that Wests Tigers would represent Wests and Balmain in First Grade (NRL) and the two clubs would continue to operate separately in all competitions below NRL, as they had done for the previous 92 years.
At that stage, both clubs had thousands of members, as Wests and Balmain had been fielding teams in the top tier competition. Importantly, those members had voting rights.
Over the ensuing years, supporters have naturally become ‘members’ of Wests Tigers, the NRL team, and membership of the original foundation clubs has dwindled. However, the new Wests Tigers ‘members’ are just ticket holders, not members with any voting rights or ability to influence control of Wests Tigers.
Power to influence control over the decision making at Wests Tigers has remained with Wests and Balmain. However, by 2023, very few are aware of that fact, which suits those in power as there is minimal threat to their positions.
So much so, that from 2018 until it was recently exposed, Balmain did not even bother to convene an Annual General Meeting or give their members any chance to ask questions or vote for their representatives who would ultimately make the decisions as to whom to appoint to the Board of Wests Tigers.
Financial Statements, the preparation and lodgment of which had also been neglected for some years, indicate that they had not been collecting membership fees during this period, meaning that even if they had convened the AGM’s as required under the law, there would likely have been very few ‘financial members’ with any voting rights.
New members have attempted to join Balmain to start the process of initiating much needed change, however, membership applications have been rejected by the so-called Board of Balmain, with no explanation given.
I contacted Leslie Glen, the ‘Chairman’ of Balmain to request an explanation for the rejection of membership applications from three applicants, one a lawyer, another a registered liquidator and the third, a chartered accountant.
Mr Glen’s response was simply:
‘Dear Mr Cavanagh. You have been advised of the Board’s decision. I do not propose to engage in further discussion on this matter with you. Yours sincerely. Leslie Glen.’
I responded:
‘Dear Lesley, The only way to change the decision making at Wests Tigers is through membership of the two foundation clubs? And you are blocking this? Obviously, this won’t look good. But thank you for your response. Regards Shannon Cavanagh.’
Wests have been actively seeking and accepting new members, however, until recently, not many members were aware of the club’s right to appoint a Director to the Board of Wests Tigers.
At the 2022 AGM, this was finally acknowledged by the then-Chairman, and that Director was identified.
However, the decision to appoint this person had never been discussed by the Wests Board.
This led to two important questions:
firstly, who made the decision to appoint this person; and
secondly, and perhaps of more concern, how was this appointment registered with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission.
I believe that the control structure of Wests Tigers has been deliberately kept vague. The result has been that the vast majority think change is impossible and have not bothered to challenge the current decision makers.
Interestingly, the Chairman of Wests Tigers, Lee Hagipantelis, has not come forth with a clear and articulate explanation of the control structure and, importantly, how can the members, fans or other stakeholders initiate change.
Instead he has spread misinformation and delivered insults to those questioning his governance.
Mr Hagipantelis claimed in an article in the SMH on 23 July 2023 that I had ‘declared an intention to see the Wests Tigers fold and be replaced by the Western Suburbs Magpies in the NRL competition’.
This is simply not true, however I would gladly offer Mr Hagipantelis the opportunity to provide substantiation of this claim.
To suggest that a divide between Wests and Balmain is in any way responsible for the club’s current predicament is a desperate attempt to deflect attention away from the real source of the problems.
I personally think that Wests, Balmain and Wests Tigers fans have never been more galvanized. There is a common enemy and they all want change.
Last week, I was invited to appear on SEN network to explain the structure of Wests Tigers, in particular, how change could be made, and explained in a way in which the lay-man could understand. That is, talk straight.
I assume that I was contacted, instead of Mr Hagipantelis, as he has been unable or unwilling to do so previously.
Yet, Mr Hagipantelis says ‘I do feel a little sorry for Cavanagh, obviously suffering from delusions of relevance’.
I thank Mr Hagipantelis for his pity, however, I suggest, that rather than dishing out insults to those speaking out about the mess we are currently in, he should have a good hard look at himself.
Particularly, given his reported ‘glass jaw’ when it comes to taking criticism.
My advice to concerned members and supporters is to join Wests Magpies, Balmain Tigers and Wests Ashfield, the owners of Wests Tigers.
Ask questions, attend AGMs, vote and keep up the pressure. It is your right to do so. And don’t give up.

Smoke an mirrors strategy. Keep the plebs happy by tickling their nostalgia itch while at the same time making it hard for us to complain when things undoubtedly get worse. Harder to lay the boot into a past great then just another administrative hire.

Wests Tigers are basically a self serving marketing firm at this point.

Would be great to see an Organisational Chart

Yea i saw that. He made the claim about Balmains non governance at the time he was punted. It would be interesting to hear from any Balmain football club members on here whether they have been contacted in the last few years about AGMs, financial reports etc.
He also posted these relating to the Balmain board - did any Balmain members get to vote on this board?

Law and disorder

Tigers chairman Lee Hagipantelis has more than internal bickering, coaching uncertainty and Alan Jones to deal with.

The Brydens Lawyers and Wests Tigers boss is facing the prospect of having to provide an explanation to The Law Society of NSW after a dispute with the former chairman of Wests Magpies.

We told you some months ago about Shannon Cavanagh and his run-in with Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe at the launch of Wests Tigers’ centre of excellence in November.

Cavanagh is still a director of the Magpies but is no longer chairman after being suspended due to his behaviour at that function. He has not taken the matter lightly. This column has seen his complaint to The Law Society of NSW, which claims:

“a) Mr Hagipantelis submitted a false and/or misleading complaint about me tothe board of a company (sporting organisation) of which Iam a director and was, at the time, chairman;

b) Mr Hagipantelis submitted a dishonest account of a prior interaction I had with him, to a disciplinary committee before which I was required to attend;

c) Mr Hagipantelis advised and assisted a person to provide a dishonest account of a prior interaction I had with that person, to the same disciplinary committee;

d) Mr Hagipantelis made unprofessional and offensive comments about me on a radio station SEN, in Brydens Lawyers’ sponsored segment, “Sport and the Law”. In particular, he used the term ‘demented’ to describe me.”

Hagipantelis said the claims were “barely worthy of comment”.

Ill-conceived and without merit,” he said. “To complain to Legal Services about me fulfilling my role as chairman of Wests Tigers is designed to destabilise and disrupt. Abject failure on both counts. Cavanagh has declared an intention to see the Wests Tigers fold and be replaced by the Western Suburbs Magpies in the NRL competition. That will never occur. To my understanding, he has absolutely no support in that view within or without our majority stakeholder. I do feel a little sorry for Cavanagh, obviously suffering from delusions of relevance.”

Cavanagh claims he “had exposed numerous governance concerns involving a company of which [Hagipantelis] is a director and the chairman, and I reported these issues to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission”.

Hagipantelis attacked Cavanagh for his behaviour at the opening of the centre of excellence in a letter to Wests seen by this column.

“What occurred is, with respect, a disgrace,” he wrote. “Mr Cavanagh’s conduct was reprehensible. In his capacity as Chair of Wests Magpies, he has not only embarrassed himself, but also your Club. Mr Cavanagh has no foundation, let alone any entitlement, to criticise our CEO, Mr Justin Pascoe, the culture of our organisation and the manner in which it is operated or make any comment with respect to staff.”

Interesting. Cavenagh gone. Pascoe can too as
far as I'm concerned but one thing is for sure,
and like the way he dresses or not, Lee rides
for the club & stumps up cash. I respect him
Me too. Needs a little help on the PR front by not having complete fools trying to go into ‘bat us

Sounds like an independent review might uncover a few opportunities to improve the organisation as a whole. 🤔
A review that in no way would be binding and the board could and would just pick the eyes out of and only introduce any changes that tinkered with the edges.
Shannon has given you the path to real change.
This petition....when Dulcify died during the 1979 Melbourne Cup the jockey didn't continue to flog it.

Justin Pascoe’s horse died in 2015 mate, he’s still got the whip in hand.

Why would I join one of three clubs who don’t listen to their members, one is enough!

You get a membership sticker to put on your car every year. Can't get a better reason than that!
