Give him a BBQ, WTF !!!

Lmao and ummm a lot. He left school early,
Tough upbringing, not the best family life.
He's story is quite good coming out of c-town.
He use to catch the train to concord 4 training.
I had a bit to do with him, he's a decent guy.
He'll be a one club player Nofoaluma I think ...
I don’t mind him.
He generally puts in and is still our best finisher.
He would have had another good try on Sat bar for foul play.

The reason he didn't go with the rest of them is because no one wanted him. You wanna talk about loyalty, we were loyal to Brooks for more then 10 years, and he is leaving the club for more money. Lucky to get a BBQ if you ask me.
This is just not true. He has been linked with multiple clubs every time he has been off contract. Coaches and captains at other clubs have discussed times they were considering/trying to recruit him. He got a rich, 4 year deal from another club recently. Whether he signed out of loyalty, contract value offered, didn't want to leave his comfort zone or whatever else we will never know. But it is clear that he has had other suitors.
Criticise him all you like but I don't get why the haters feel the need to blatantly make shit up.

Speaking of which, how was that not a penalty try? If he didn't collect his head he scores without question.

What makes you think it’s not what he wanted
How many other players that have left a club after 10 years have received anything at all
He got paid fairly while with us why should he expect a gold watch
Don’t really get all the drama about this tbh
yeah, i think a bbq is an odd choice for a gift but i dont feel like he was necessarily entitled to anything.

They had a big night for him at his 200th that recognises what he contributed to the club. Seemed pretty happy with the barbeque
Maybe, just maybe they asked him what he wanted and he said “ a new BBQ” or maybe they really didn’t know what to give him and somebody said, we know you like to cook( which I heard the MC say), well go and knock yourself out.
It is was it is, and irrespective of the past he’s going to be trying to kick our butt next year. Big difference if he was retiring from the game.

Kiss his feet, Tim Mannah on Fox was laughing at us. We look at our 10 years of crap and blame 1 player. It would have been easier for him to leave than it was for us to resign him. Look what we had to sign over the past 3 days. We payed Jayden Sullivan 2.2 million over 4 years, are you serious, he hasn't played a full season. Halfbacks are hard to find, let alone attracting them to our club. M Pearce at 40 rejected us. And you reckon Brooks owes us.
What has this got to do with the bbq? Just proves you're looking for an outlet to bash the club.
Did I say Brooks owes us? I said he was treated very well at this club for a long period. The club has always stood by him, it was the fans that put the pressure on. Now he's going to play for another employer and we have given a small parting gift. Nothing else needs to be done.

Everyone is laughing at this presentation/gift….why not do it behind closed doors?
Because then the club gets hounded for not giving Brooks a proper home send-off. The old damned do/don't problem.

They asked Pascoe about it, he said everyone gives out framed pics or footballs, it's a bit predictable and boring, they wanted to give him something useful and they cleared it with the NRL (for salary cap reasons) first.

Anyone complaining about this is a peanut, pure and simple, lost all perspective.

All the grabs I saw of Brooks on the day never seen him look so happy. He was right in the middle of the team victory song with a massive grin - Api poured his water over him at the end. Clearly he his looking forward to what's ahead the pressure for now is off and looks like he is enjoying the last few weeks with his teammates - some may even be scheduling an upcoming barbeque in the off season.
