Give him a BBQ, WTF !!!

Someone mentioned that it was electric which if true is a damn fine thing because with all these wanker greenie councils and governments banning gas it won't be long before you'll be paying an environmental levy to fart.

I don’t find it offensive, I find it typical. It is humorous to me to see the club can’t even get something like this correct.
He didn’t need a big song and dance send off, even said as much…yet they still went ahead and advertised they’d do it. They made sure everyone knew there’d be some sort of presentation after the game and then wheeled out a bloody barby 😆😆😆 it’s a typical thing this club does.
Ditto, it’s these special moments that give a strong indication we are chasing the kardation fans. I know it’s 2 years away, but are they now stocking up on a complete range of hair products for Nofa’s send off?

The bbq is a symbol of the WT board MO. Their decision making often has little to do with success, but more so who’s winning the political one-upmanship battle.
Plenty of examples exist, like the time the media wrote Brooks being dropped a couple of days before the game.
The signing of a novice half on the same contract conditions as presented to Brooks, but the parting flip, something to remember the board by, the bloody bbq, 😤 😂 an invasion of a man’s castle. It’s just another flip.
Brooks will no doubt use it as motivation as a reminder of how he left the club with his dignity.
He will always know that he had the support of his teammates and remember how they got up for his 200th. WT 66, Cowboys 18.

This whole BBQ story is typical of the Tigers management never being able to read the room when making any decision.
There’s nothing wrong with a personal gift to a guy who’s been with the club as long as Brooks - I believe it is a pretty nice quality product and the guy loves to cook, so a good present. The only mistake here is the way they presented it and played it out in public.
A personal gift should have been given behind closed doors by his teammates and coaches.

Didn't we have the same kind of thread last year around some cheap lame birthday cake ?

😂😂😂

The club puts zero thought and effort into things like this - which is embarrassing but expected by corporations/organisations where everyone is just a replaceable number.

Is this true?

No but it's the right thing to do.

We can't keep trying to imagine that there is not a significant cost for consuming fossil fuels (and cows farting) and that cost is not reflected in the price of fossil fuels. So the right thing to do is to tax those activities to reflect the true cost.

I love these arguments though because I'm no greenie and in this day and age if you think global warming isn't a massive problem you are so delusional it's not funny.

Massive fires across the world and I know it's not proven that it is global warming but it's probably a contributing factor and if we don't do something it could be catastrophic.

*** Sorry for the rant but these completely delusional comments kill me.

They definitely showed very little class doing it the way they did.

At the very least, Lee should have taken Brooksies #7 jersey and held it up for all the crowd to see and then retired it by draping it over the back of a plastic chair in a ceremony that would not see a dry eye in the house.

How many West's Tigers have played for us for a decade. Many were like rats on a sinking ship, including the dog Tedesco. When it was popular to reject our contracts or leave us. He did not.
played for us?

Bit generous. Turned up for a paycheck, made a few shit kicks and went home to tuck in Teddy and Moses seems more accurate. Should have presented the bludger with 2 wooden spoons with his BBQ.
