Sorry to be a trouble but can you load the article here so I can read it?Multi-million dollar offer to keep him at WT until 2027.![]()
Wests Tigers offer Jahream Bula mega contract extension
Bula has been a shining light in a miserable season for the wooden spooners and will be a leading NRL rookie-of-the-year contender. Now Benji Marshall has shown how much he thinks of him.www.smh.com.au
Who did you play for Trevor's?I wish I was his size when I was playing since I would've had a ball as I was always punching well above my weight playing prop at 13 stone.
It was for both.Did the players who debut get the framed poster or was that for players leaving ?
In my opinion... it looked like a few departing players were given a frame photograph of themselves playing.
Charlie Staines included.
Got me thinking he's done with our club.
I could be way off though.
It's not that simple to just remove players from the 30.Excuse this old blokes lack of understanding when it comes to this top 30 and the technicalities around it, but do we have to have these reserve graders in the top 30, can’t they be in ressies until we need them?
Unless they are ready for NRL come game one, (& some are not), then guys like James, Mansfield, Tumeth, Fainu, Galvin, Reilly, Feledy, and even Doueihi, are reserve graders until required. Why do they need to be listed as top 30?
That frees up a few spots for us to buy actual ready to go nrl players and have the next crop honing their skills against men getting ready for the call up when required after round 10?
And is it r10 again next year?
Now I’ve just read that James is going, did we get rid of him or has he found a better job? Bcoz he’s a good example of somebody who could possibly continue to get better with age.
Does the contract have to state that they are a top 30 player? It's not that simple to just remove players from the 30.
They're official contracts.
He was always going to leave. No top 30 spot here, someone else would throw him a deal.Yep, looks like everyone is farewelling him.
It's effectively your 30 highest paid players. Which is something you can't just change as you likeDoes the contract have to state that they are a top 30 player?
Or do you register the player (& his contract) with the nrl as one of your nominated top 30.
So that’s the sticking point, It is your 30 highest paid players? It's effectively your 30 highest paid players. Which is something you can't just change as you like
Salary cap??Does the contract have to state that they are a top 30 player?
Or do you register the player (& his contract) with the nrl as one of your nominated top 30.
Good!!Yep, looks like everyone is farewelling him.
Thanks muchly champion @BalmainJnr.
He is exactly what we need, how many times did we hit our red zone this year only to have our backs run laterally ?? Alamoti is perfect IN ATTACK just needs work in defence. How often do you see campbell graham sprint 80m to score, he isnt a " fast centre " either but is still top 5 centres in the NRL.If we are looking at him, it would only be if Kepaoa is moved on. Alamoti is a tackle busting centre seen as a potential future backrower. Does not possess the speed we need as our first choice outside back recruit. As @balmain boy said, Benji will be seeking speed given our squad’s deficiency in speed & x-factor.
Obviously (probably not to the club), during that time they are all going gang busters, we need to extend them mid contracts so they finish up a year apart. It doesn’t sound to hard to me and you, my concern is the club sitting on their hands or stuffing it up somehow.Assuming Fainu and Sullivan go gang busters, and Bula signs till the end of 2027, that means all 3 would come off contract at the same time. What happened the last time a situation like that happened at this club? Ah I’m gonna have to Google it.
Too small and lacks impact at prop!Good!!
He is NOT a first grader!
WTF are some people watching to see anything more than another less accomplished Jesse Sue type foward?
Too small and lacks impact at prop!
Can only hope we are in this situation.Assuming Fainu and Sullivan go gang busters, and Bula signs till the end of 2027, that means all 3 would come off contract at the same time. What happened the last time a situation like that happened at this club? Ah I’m gonna have to Google it.
I don’t know. Think we may regret this one. He reminds me of Junior Tatola in that he took a bit of time to develop. He went to another level at Souths.Too small and lacks impact at prop!
I liked him in the trials, pity he didnt go on with it this year. Dont know if you are being sarcastic with the 'too small' comment but the dude in his limited time on the field always looked the biggest out there. He is 3rd biggest in the squad at 110kg behind Stef 115kg and Klemmer 116kg (which is in no way accurate, maybe when he played for the dogs). A few times commentators even made the point about how big he looks. I agree with the no impact part though. Seems like the kind of player that was always biggest on the field as a junior which carried him a fair way through his career to this point. Hasn't shown anything so far to carry on in the NRL though.
