2023 NRL Finals General Discussion thread *Spoilers*

Liking Melbourne is no longer a joke I make periodically. The way grant went down, didn't get the penalty and they just focused on the next couple of play sums it up. They focus on winning, none of the other stuff. Give them their premierships back, everyone cheats lol

Clutch play by Warbrick in the end there.
Easily rookie of the year for mine.
Thought the better side lost tonight. Melbourne look very muddled in attack. They need to really improve to get close to Penrith.
Congrats to the Roosters. Played with a lot of heart in the backend of this season. Proved a lot of people wrong.

Give the Roosters a participation award. They are the Manchester City of the NRL. Courage in defeat doesn't cut it. With the players, coaches and facilities at their disposal, they should never drop out of the top 4. They may have rallied towards the end of the season, but for the most part they were bog ordinary.

Fun game. The result doesn't matter. Everyone knows it's a Panthers v Broncos GF.

Usually, I support the NSW side but how do you support Ivan the Terrible - a major reason why Tigers have taken up permanent residence in Spoon Land? The Broncs might be the lesser of two evils, and they are good to watch.

Meaney was excellent. Last week, Paps's inclusion threw Meaney off. This is the second time that Bellamy has tried to bring Paps back after injury and it disrupted the team.

When a star is out for a while and a team finds a good rhythm without him, it's risky to rush the star at the back end of the season. There's not enough time for the team to adjust.

Tough season for them... What were the 30 seconds from a qualifying final?
Against Melb in Melb

Yeah not good enough let's laugh at them

We can only dream

Get real, they are missing heaps of players. Junior Pauga is in their run on side.

Storm service from DH was putrid all night!!
Not sure what’s happening with Harry…
I’ve been calling him out for a few years now….Harry is not as good as he is rated. Tigers fans in particular over rate him.
I find he often chooses the wrong options and kills attacking momentum. Occasionally he brilliantly sets up scoring opportunities…but watch his whole game. The other spine players get pretty exasperated with him.

Big deal. Melbourne were missing key players as well. All the remaining sides have dealt with injury tolls at different times of the season. Roosters' depth players like Paulo and Allan would be starters at most clubs.
But fear not, with Dom Young and Spencer Leinu joining next year, your boys will be premiership favourites, unless injuries cruelly strike again.

Mate, we can only dream of avoiding the spoon next year.

I'm not laughing at the Roosters, just don't understand the outpouring of sympathy. I suspect that most of you would be singing a very different tune if it were Souths, Parra or Manly. For my part, I dislike all other Sydney clubs and am indifferent to the out-of- towners.

Get real….
Allen wasn’t a starter at any of the 3+ clubs he’s been at… nor Pauga.
We came last and he couldn’t even start for us

Get real. Allan fell out of favour at the dogs but still managed 20+ games across 2 seasons and was a Qld rep at Souths.

Momo is a two-time premiership winner.

Pauga was useless at the Tigers and Roosters deserve credit for developing him into a first grade standard winger.

Don’t be such a wanker.
True footy fans can appreciate other teams.
One eyed supporters are such dipshit crybabies 🤣

I love watching Ponga play though. He can turn a game. Gamble has been great as well even though he is a knob.
Gamble looks like a guy who will shank you outside Mt Druitt station. Ponga’s a great player, but I have little time for him outside of that.
