Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

It’s players like Seyfarth who will be 14-17 at almost any NRL club and is only on a slightly better than minimum wage that helps a club build a strong roster around him.
Also being a local junior that creates the heart and soul of a club, we would be crazy to let him go.

All things being relatively equal, local juniors must be prioritised. Else the club abandons its roots.

The talent is there, but the club desperately needs some continuity.

Benji will have ups and downs as coach, particularly next year, but if they jump off him after 18 months after saying he had the backing for at least 3 years, then the 5 year plan just starts again...

Benji will go the distance if he can :
1. Increase the 2024 season wins to a minimum of 8 and make the finals from 2025.
2. Add some steel to the team and have the players playing with pride for the black, gold and white jersey and supporters.

Would the fans have approved signing Johnson or Reynolds.?

They took risks with their signings.
The fans took what they got. Did you pay any for Johnson or Reynolds? Did it hit your hip pocket. Or in another region - deep pocket. So to answer your question. No. You are righ. Hence the Magpie Magic.

Especially since there are few quality options right now in the player market.

I have little to no idea on who is available and have not watched a single non WT match for a month or more.

Hopefully the club is able to shift a couple more top 30 spots from our books for the coming year, similar to last. Whilst also signing some more consistent players and/or positional upgrades as replacements.
