Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

* Jordan Miller in top 30!

Recent NRL debutant Tallyn Da Silva is one of five players who will be upgraded from Wests Tigers pathways program to the NRL Top 30 in 2024. Da Silva will join Josh Feledy, Brandon Webster-Mansfield, Jordan Miller, and Lachlan Galvin in the top squad from November 1.

*Room then has to be made in top 30 for these 4 development players in '25.

Kit Laulilii, who made his NRL debut alongside Feledy in Round 27, will join the Wests Tigers Development list in 2024, before joining the Top 30 in 2025.

The 2024 NRL Development list will also include Chris Faagutu, Solomone Saukuru and Tony Sukkar, who are yet to make an appearance in the top grade. Faagutu, Saukuru and Sukkar will join the Top 30 in 2025, as part of the club’s strategic succession plan.

* Train & Trialists for pre-season (some, not all)

A further group of players will be provided opportunities during the NRL pre-season later this year as part of an extended NRL squad from November 6. This group of players will include several local juniors including Luke Laulilii, Heath Mason and Will Craig (Westerns Suburbs), as well as Keenan Lawandos and Cayne Nicholas (Balmain).

I read that Drew Hutchinson is off contract and gone from the Roosters. Bloke is no superstar but he's certainly covered a lot of gaps for the chooks for a long time and always shown tonnes of ticker.

He'd be a perfect low cost signing (or secondary cap signing now they don't need to wait until round 10 to play NRL). I'd have him in the 14 jumper every week
Camel 🐫 I am a fan of Hutchinson. He might be the sort of player to help the Tigers avoid the threepeat?

😬😬😬
Lot of squad spots on un-tested kids, Baptism of fire in 2024 I think.

Disappointed that Big Jimmy Ngutlik isn't in any of these Lists....
Hopefully he's still got a contract of sorts (Ressies or some such)

Don't recognise many of these names as outside backs though - Also a bit scary....
Yeah, looks like just Feledy and Saukuru entering the 30 over the next couple of years for outside backs.

Luke Laulilii and Will Craig are outside backs too, I'm pretty confident they'll both end up somewhere in the NRL setup in future.

I'm not so confident on Ngutlik, he couldn't make the NSW Cup side even before he was injured.

I dunno about Cook moving to Ceo of both considering he left the board, presumably to concentrate on WA. I can see however Pascoe leaving the CEO position but not totally leaving the fold, maybe being retained solely to look after the corporate side of things. He may not have been a good CEO but he has handled the money side of things well i guess.
But that would be my guess for this review very little changes but a shuffling of the deck chairs to satisfy the masses. The death knell has been ringing for Pascoe for ages and he still survives so he must have something going for him. If he's in the background not making football related decisions i don't care if he hangs around i just don't want to hear from him again.
Cook stepped down cause he thought the tigers needed a new direction in the board and he called for the rest of the board to do the same nothing to do with his work at wests Ashfield

THANK YOU WESTS TIGERS FOR CLARITY

Miller top 30 as I said the other week, no surprise. Sukkar must’ve been talked round to ink a development deal. Solo, Kit and Fa’agutu on development as expected. Luke Laulili’i will still fly thru the ranks.

delighted to hear Mason will be doing an NRL preseason, similar for Craig and Cayne Nicholas. anyone know much about Lewandos? I’m hopeless in terms of the Balmain side.

judging from that article, Onitoni will join the top 30 in 2026 and do his first preseason when he graduates high school. given Sheens rated Ashton as highly as Onitoni I’d say it will be similar for him in 2027. delighted with the forward thinking for a change.

Yeh I think I miss heard but said similar to knights and Panthers set up.

Personally don't see much difference

I'm the same in that I haven't seen as much of the Balmain side, but haven't been super impressed by Lawandos from what I have watched.

Big and powerful on an edge but I think he seems too muscular/stocky at the moment and lacks a bit of mobility.

An NRL pre-season should help him get the right body shape though and he's young enough.

Either way doesn't seem a likely choice for Ceo which is what i was saying in a nutshell. I wasnt aware of the exact nature of why he stoop aside.

Interesting. Mate who has kids at Scots just sent me the link to watch the GPS Athletics Champs which were on earlier today. Onitoni Large ran a 10.93 into a headwind in 31 degrees to win the champs as a 16 year old. Haemasi Makasini ran a couple of races earlier also.

If you want to see it. You have to create an account

Just saw a post of Facebook from 2019 for Toula Koula from Manly running 10.86 in the opens probably as a 17/18 year old.
If Large is this quick as a 16 year old that’s very decent hopefully he maintains his speed as he grows into his body.
Edit. 10.58.

Does this mean older brother Apisolme has been moved on from the top 30?

Any word on Mikey Nasser?
