Lee & JP finally lose the confidence of the Board??

Agree đź’Ż.
The management of the club was very different back then.
As we are a merged club, there is a lot more to take into consideration when running Wests Tigers compared to all the other clubs except St George-Illawarra who are in a similar predicament.
If managed properly and the on field results are good, a merged club that stems from two former clubs that were initially formed from working class areas can be a huge success.
When on field results are poor there is always going to be criticism and unrest no matter what.

not anymore there isnt. There is only one owner. Only one board member has anything to do with Balmain and a few years ago he was listed as an "independent" member. The Wests v Balmain thing is a figment of some fans imaginations and is not an issue at board level.

Don't board members get elected on boards because they have proper credentials and business acumen to run proper governance and the like. Why do we need a review from a 'so called' independent person when the board should know this stuff anyway. This is why they get elected on to the board in the first place isn't it. If these board members cannot be removed what is the point of the review. We are just going around in circles. I can't wait for the media to line us up again if nothing changes at board level.

The minute WA initated the review they set in motion changes at board level and they know that. i tmight not mean members are sacked but there will be changes. My bet is there will be additional independent board members appointed.

The club should be honoured that fans still support them after by far the most abysmal NRL run in the modern era. At least Newcastle's spoons had semi appearances before and after. Without fans, what is an NRL club?

My understanding, though. is that the Tigers how don't have many young fans. To them, supporting the Tigers would make them a joke and a loser. The long demise should have been looked into during the Maguire era, when the team rapidly got worse but had not reached rock bottom.

Coming 17th after coming 16th is pretty close to rock bottom.
That’s interesting, a lot of them have probably grown up following the panthers or other more current teams.
Fans are fickle; especially kids, lots of influence hence I mentioned we had a lot of young following when Benji himself was a school kid adored by kids of similar generation. Since then the Tigers kids have had to be inspired by who; Brooksie?
I can see why..

If that Myall?

Does anyone know if the Wests Tigers constitution or corp governance statement is available online? I can’t find it from my searches.

Good overview of ownership structure is at:

Clarify this for me, I’ve read it a few times over.
Is this in reference to the Wests Tigers ownership % or Wests Magpies?

“As of today, the company Wests Magpies Pty Ltd (which is made up of 33% WSDRLFC
and 66% Holman Barnes Group) are majority owners/shareholders of the Wests Tigers NRL Franchise.”

If it is just the Wests Magpies than I am further in the dark as to what is the ownership model of the Wests Tigers.

If it is Wests Tigers then technically in part with other members within the HBG that Wests Magpies own 99% of the Wests Tigers..

Wests Magpies Pty ltd own 90% of the Wests Tigers

Balmain football club own 10% of Wests Tigers

Wests Magpies Pty ltd is owned 66% The Holman Barnes Group and 33% Wests Magpies footy club.

Does that mean there will be more independents on the board than not. If the answer is no, what's the point.

Mate as I said its just my guess. I doubt that there will ever be more independents than not. In what privately owned company would the owner hand control of the company over to someone else?

I guess that’s roughly
60% HBG
30% WSDRLFC
10% Balmain Tigers.

Just seems like one big mess to me mate. I can't see the point of putting two more independents on the board if they really have no voting power. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed though.

Who owns Wests leagues club and do they have anything to do with our junior leagues anymore.
Wests Campbelltown? Is a seperate entity with its own board and constitution. Was originally part of Wests Ashfield but they made it independent back in about 87 I believe.
