Lee & JP finally lose the confidence of the Board??

It's interesting that one of the people that advocates waiting for the findings of a review would like a comment proposing pre-empting that review with immediate changes.
They all want different changes.......so following this the innuendo may still go on to the detriment if the club.

I agree the handling of the Sheens situation was a failure.

And I'm for constructive change......but you speak of the review is a good thing in any form........I don't agree to the anarchy some are proposing or the negative press which comes from a public petition.

As for questioning my motive for not wanting what is largely what is now fast becoming a public which hunt in the media........it's simply that not wanting a destabilising negative public trial of the club.
There appears no other way to effect change. To date this mob have not been held accountable to anyone and have made a mockery of the club they expect supporters to continue to back. While it is unfortunate to have this all playing out publically I don't see how else to effect change while ever after each season the same management keep pedalling out false hope. Professionally players and managers stopped buying it a long time ago at some point the loyalty of the fans was always going to be tested. Something had to give.

Can't believe some of the criticism @cochise has copped on here. Are we really using The Daily Telegraph and trash media to tell us what to believe about our supporters and our club? Some of your responses on this forum are pathetic and embarrassing.

I did not sign the petition but fan frustration and creating a petition are reasonable and modest actions by club supporters. It's our board and Chair and CEO who makes decisions, it's their job to manage fans discontent and the management and organisation of the club. I don't have anything to do with Ambush and find the podcast too long and boring (sorry), but these are highly engaged fans making a simple request.

I've seen nothing from the club this year, or anytime recently, that suggests a clear vision of what the club should look like and how we get there. It's a shambles and if it's not obvious to everyone look at our results, look at our media interactions and look at the total flip flopping in decision making.

I don't care what the media thinks, we at least should be able to have a bit of solidarity amongst us. Onya fans for trying to make our club better. Don't listen to the fools.

I hope people continue to sign the petition. Even if this review comes to nothing, there is a groundswell of thousands of us who can see that there are deep systemic issues at the club. The podcast guys have shown that fans can come together and enact change, even if we don’t have any voting rights as members and fans. Our Chairman said he serves at the pleasure of the Board, when asked by a member of the Board to stand down he declined. He told us Sheens was safe, then totally undermined him and sent him packing, after making him sign a non-disclosure agreement. Just like all the coaches before him. The lies and deception are staring us all straight in the face. We don’t have to put up with this shit anymore.

100% mate they got on the front foot and did what they believed is the correct and only thing to do to improve this useless club how dare people have a go at them.

If you think is disrupting next year go back and look how our club has performed over the last 12 years without distractions

Every time you read 1 of these stupid articles from shm or daily telegraph just remember back to the jersey saga or the way the club went about getting Fulton here or the fact that the chairman is the main sponsor of the club or that in the centre of excellence it had benji Marshall as winning comp with the dragons and let’s not forget these muppets signed an ageing winger on a 5 year contract on decent money

seriously people open your eyes this club is a mess and needs a deep deep review don’t let a couple of crappy articles from some 1 on lees side fool you

With certain media outlet’s bagging the petition and the supporters for taking this course of action, only further justify it was the right decision.

The NRL media is all about…you scratch my back and I will scratch yours. So my guess the club has asked a jurno or two, to question the integrity of the people responsible for the petition.

I really don't know who the info is coming from, the only thing concrete is Lee released the info about his position being extended.
Hi Cochise,

This was included in the Chammas article which is at page 3 of this thread.

Hagipantelis also told other Tigers directors that Andreacchio’s concerns were hypocritical considering that on the Tuesday night at the club’s NRLW awards - the night before his lunch with members of the media - Andreacchio had volunteered the news of the chairman’s extension to a member of the Bryden’s Lawyer executive team, of which Hagipantelis is principal.

That would of been one of the most cringe worthy moments to witness.

The people who love our management & hate the journos who unfairly say bad things about us, I wonder do they question why Lee takes them all out for a nice lunch ? 😂🤣😂

100%. I just don’t get it.

Not a fan of the pod or hosts but they went out and did something. All I do is talk shit on here. At the end of the day they support something I like and they want the thing we all like to be better. What’s not to get behind here?

Here is an article from the DT:-

It’s long been Wayne Bennett’s favourite catchphrase. Given Bennett’s standing as one of rugby league’s greatest-ever coaches, it makes complete sense then, that key members of the worst performing NRL club over the past-12 years have turned to finding a way forward by taking advice from podcasters and supporters from the hill.

If it’s even possible, the Wests Tigers as an organisation have reached an all-time low, thanks to a collection of suits that make up the club’s majority owners, the Holman Barnes Group, (formerly known as Wests Ashfield) who are hiding behind a petition signed by no less than 2,000 fans. The petition has triggered an independent review which is currently underway and is designed to lift the bonnet on the club’s governance and operations. It is yet to be confirmed if the findings will ever be made public, which is important, as it would then allow the rest of the game to find out how it is that a podcaster knows what an elite-level performing NRL club looks like.

It’s worth noting also, politicians, journalists, player agents and staff will also be interviewed. The review has been brought upon to create change at the Wests Tigers, namely by removing the two constants at the club, chairman Lee Hagipantelis and CEO Justin Pascoe. Boardroom politics often prompts the eyes of punters to glaze over and in desperate need for a Bex and a good lie down.

However, this one will have a lasting impact on the footy field. The Tigers, not the Dragons, should be wooden-spoon favourites for 2024 after this. Those who have penned their signatures have little clue as to how much damage they’re doing ahead of Benji Marshall’s rookie season.

The youngest coach in the NRL next year is said to be filthy. He knows what success looks like and this surely isn’t it. To pinch a quote from yet another super coach, this time Jack Gibson, “winning starts in the front office.” What should be the most important pre-season of Marshall’s career, which is underpinned by solidarity and unity, is now being railroaded by a boardroom Civil War. The damage, both for Marshall and his ability to coach without a summer of distracting headlines, in addition to the club’s hopes of recruiting new talent while retaining their own, is untold. This morning, Tigers fans will wake to the news that Junior Blues halfback Alex Conti is off to the Bulldogs. It’s just the beginning. It’s any wonder Marshall’s manager Matt Desira was one of the first to call Hagipantelis out of concern last Thursday. Next on the phone from the US was Mario Tartak.

He is the agent of Tigers 2024 starting halfback, former Dragons playmaker Jayden Sullivan, and the club’s most prized recruits, Latu and Samuela Fainu. The trio had taken deals with the Tigers in the belief that under Marshall and a heavily-invested Hagipantelis, the club had moved past troubled times. Prop Stefano Utoikamanu has a clause in his 2024 contract that allows him to leave if the Wests Tigers miss the finals next season. What’s the point? Let him go now. The determinations of the review are unlikely to be detailed before December, right when Marshall is in the middle of his important pre-season. In the meantime, Hagipantelis is standing firm after it was voted unanimously that he continue as a director and chair for a further three years by both the Balmain and Wests Magpies directors of the joint-venture club last month. The twist came when he was recently asked to stand down by Holman Barnes Group representative Tony Andreacchio. Andreacchio and the HBG feel betrayed that news of Hagipantelis’ extension as chair went public while the review was still ongoing. Did they seriously think it would remain quiet for three months?

Pascoe will be interviewed for the sake of the review next week. It will be the CEO’s word against a podcaster. Only in Tiger Town.
