SullivanWho tf is bud?
Jayden is actually looking to formally change his first name to Bud.
Where is Hobbo?I miss Hobbo.
He would have said punt him by now.
Ba-dum-TishMany like me would be none the weiser
One he’s not on a million a year! Two he’s played not one first grade game yet, and u want to throw him into first grade, please.Take your million dollar marquee star recruit and whack him in reserve grade. Yep, definitely the plan to piss him off straight away and make him wonder why he signed.
Someone was calling him Luai. I think the bloke was actually referring to Latu accidentally. One he’s not on a million a year! Two he’s played not one first grade game yet, and u want to throw him into first grade, please.
I reckon the sun and the heat in the NT is affecting your judgement.
Fainu would know theres no guarantee when he’s playing first grade, he has to earn it. He just turned 18 let’s not burn him out to early!!
There’s plenty of speculation around the starting halves combo. If the club pay $500k for a player but prefer to play the $200k player, what does that say about our cap management?Bar injury Sezer will start at 7 with Bud at 6 in what I think will happen , young guy Latu will need to prove himself over the top in pre season or start and show his worth in 2 nd grade , Sezer on his return is probably back up but will be used early I feel to get the guys going , hopefully pre season will get new style happening under Benji , I give the coach and players a chance to prove plenty smart arses wrong , I’m hoping for a great start to 2024 with heaps of enthusiasm and go get it attitude , We need to bash and barge up front and let the new guys attack , we missed attack last season we did have some good go forward , up and up for the Tigers
So if we get Luia we could have a halves pairing of Bud and Lu - there would never be a dull moment.Jayden is actually looking to formally change his first name to Bud.
Tigers need a lot more than Luai. But I think out of all the teams Tigers are 100% the best fit for Luai should he leave. Flanagan at Dragons doesn't like Luai because his son Kyle and Luai have been at odds for years. Bulldogs need a game managing halfback and a dominant prop, not utilities, 5/8s, or more backs. Tigers have an elite hooker, great young fullback, but shit halves. Once you get an experienced half like Luai who hates losing, there is competition for the other halves spot which makes players play better. When you play 2 young guns together it doesn't always work. It worked with Cleary + Luai in 2020 when they were early 20s because they played together in juniors and learnt heaps off James Maloney and Peter Wallace, two great halves of the 2010s. 850K from penrith is still a high offer, but the catch is it is only 2 years. Would Luai signing for Tigers be a Brooks-esque signing? Perhaps, but it's up to the board to help build the foundation for the success that is to come with promising youngsters. Think how the Broncos got the spoon in 2020 and with a young confident side have bounced back just 3 years later. Hopefully by 2026 we can at least make the 8. Next year I highly doubt it, but 2025 onwards is the time to pounceIf Luai does sign. His mansion might be bigger than Benji's. Interesting story. Thank you RugbyGoated. I agree with you. Should stay at Penrith.
I had heard that he'd met Marshall at his house but was unsure on how legit it was. seems to be true given this is the third time I've heard it though. Simpkin seems to be the subject of a swap and given the fact that they really only have Kenny (Luke is Cup standard) it makes sense for both parties.I have some strong rumours regarding Jarome Luai moving here. Wok Wright (head of Black Money Enterprises) is currently out in Central Western NSW with some of his Indigenous clients (Latrell, Trindall, Best, Ramien) as well as Luai. All of these guys are managed by Black Money and one of the people who attended there told me that Luai is deep in negotiations with the Tigers and met Benji at his mansion in Hunters Hill in the past week regarding a million dollar offer for 5 years. For his own sake, I think staying at Penrith is the safer bet for career longevity but if he wants to settle he's probably best coming over here. There is also the possibility that Luai could come a year early in 2024 if the Tigers offload Jake Simpkin in a swap to Penrith I am hearing as Penrith recently lost a young hooker called Ryley Smith to Parra and have signed another guy called Riley Price from the Cowboys too. I know a lot of people don't like Luai but if we get a spine of Bula, Luai, Api and either Sullivan, Fainu or Sezer for the other half spot that is very strong. I know people prefer it to be between Sullivan and Fainu in the halves but both are very young and unproven. They will be together in the future and Fainu is the one who will get game time should Luai play origin or for Samoa or one of the other player is out of form or injured. Just need a strike centre. Benji is very interested in centres and Bradman Best is one of the players (also with Black Money) that he is trying to get apparently but the backup option is Olam swapping with Blore
I don't think 5 years is too long. If you think about it, if he signs a 1 million dollar deal with us for 5 years, it's similar to a 1.3 million dollar deal for 3 years which is what he'd ask. The thing he wants is a longer deal. Penrith aren't giving that to him unless he takes heaps unders below 700K I'm hearing. Pretty disrespectful offer in my opinion, and after what Ivan said in the media like the dick he is I'd want to leave tooI had heard that he'd met Marshall at his house but was unsure on how legit it was. seems to be true given this is the third time I've heard it though. Simpkin seems to be the subject of a swap and given the fact that they really only have Kenny (Luke is Cup standard) it makes sense for both parties.
contract length is the sticking point, not money as we'd easily be able to afford him and have some still left over. five years is too long in my opinion. but like I've said all along, with a guy like Jarome Luai on the market you do the deal and worry about what comes next later.
