2024 Pre-Season

When Benji said ‘those who train hard preseason will most likely be in the team regardless of their age or experience’ he could have been challenging the likes of Samuela?

You should always give hope to young players and Benji remembers that from his own youth,i see it as a positive move from him.Let us hope when it comes to the crunch it becomes reality

My expectation is currently overriding my hope.
I‘m expecting another spoon and Benji to get sacked mid season 25.
my hope is that something positive will come from the review to raise my expectations.

Many of us are feeling the same way i am sure.I do however feel more positive with Benji at the helm rather than Tim who always believed he was right and would never admit to a mistake as well as being a decade out of touch with the modern game.As far as the review is concerned we need positive and dramatic changes at the board level as a minimum to improve as a club.
I live in hope that will be the case because the alternative is just too bleak to consider.

😂 similar to the previous 18 months?
no… they sacked two coaches in the last 18 months..

You are saying Benji has got 18 months …I’ll take it, but I suspect he will have longer

I think expectations might be lower than you think…. If anyone is expecting miracles from the Tigers during the 24 season with the same squad ( minus Luke Brooks for Sezar and Sullivan) that won 4 games in 23 … Ive got a nice Opera House to sell them..

We might(hopefully) be surprised. Our issue in '23 was our halves...They had no IQ in managing our attack, hardly put any pressure on the opposition via repeat sets, could not setup the outside backs...the forwards were shot doing all the work. If our halves fire in '24 we should look a totally different proposition

And it might take more than a year for the halves to improve …Sezer is over the hill and hasn’t played NRL in years and the other two are inexperienced …never mind that they still have the worst outside backs in the NRL by the length of the straight …

If our halves were so bad, how did they beat Penrith and put 60 points on the Cowboys?

We are betting on a couple of quality kids coming good. Sullivan was let go though and a borderline first grader. Fainu doesn't have NRL level experience and Manly were happy to let him go and chased Brooks. Sezer has a one year contract and he is coming back from the ESL since he wasn't wanted here.

I just hope Fainu, Sullivan and Galvin prove themselves capable of being quality NRL players and the sooner the better.

It's also harder for the halves to shine if your outside backs don't offer much.

I'm still hoping that for once our guys outperform and we have a significant turnaround but my expectations are low.

Nah bro top 4 😂
We live in an exciting age of development, where the seemingly impossible is seen as more easily achievable. Where more and more people are saying…if someone else can do it then I can too. But I still haven’t seen an elephant climb a tree.
Theres a lot of talk about how good our forward pack is and how poor our backs are, especially in attack.
We only managed 66 tries with Benji as our attack coach. Only 26 of those were scored by forwards and if you exclude Api (6) and Kaepoa (5) who played a few games in the backs, then it also puts the pack in the same class as our backs in attack.

Who is the big unit on our training staff? You see him on the right hand side of the shuttle sprint pics.

I think he's bigger than our forwards combined.
Jackson Privett, he’s the Sport Scientist.

Noticed him at the open training session at the start of this year and he’s a massive dude.

Anyone seen the draw for next year yet? I had a quick glance on Facebook, it looks pretty good for us actually I reckon. Start the season with a Bye so 2 points first up 😂
