Thankfully. Douhie needs an ego check. Wants play 5/8th but does little to show he can play it.

His defence is rubbish. Attack so slow.

IF he played centre and ripped in defence he wouldnt be bad. Cant see him doing it though. Another Mbye.
a good utility for a team can cover plenty of positions just not well enough to nail down a starting spot. In a good team like storm/ penrith off the bench he would go well as long a she works on his defence.

we only have sezer for 24 (thankfully) he hopefully won't be playing in 25 perhaps on coaching staff who knows.
So for 25 we have Fainu Sullivan Galvin... Luai is needed

You only need two halves. We'll be able to get back-up halves. I'd prefer him here. I just don't think it's a disaster if he doesn't come.

Needs to go as soon as his contract is done. Does anyone know the exact date his contract finishes? How many days to go?

I'm worried a guy at the back end of his career especially a prop on huge dollars won't work out. I'd say the risk is too high.
30 is the new 21.

As long as he’s had no serious injuries we need calibre players like him. Different story if it was a journeyman prop at that age

He’s a professional athlete at the end of the day and not playing a very agile position. Petro, Webcke were playing some of their best footy late into their 30s. It’s really not that big of an issue imo

Nothing wrong with Luai’s ego, better to be over confident than not confident enough.
He’s a much better than average footballer who has the individual brilliance to create something out of nothing and the confidence our other players would gain out of playing alongside a 3 time premiership winner would be invaluable.
The concerns are he has never shown any inkling of being a dominant game controlling halve with an astute kicking game, therefore how does he fit the description of a million dollar per season player ?
In addition to that we have Latu Fainu and Lachlan Galvin who both naturally play on the left the same as Luai. Would signing Luai potentially freeze them both out and not give them the opportunity to play regularly and potentially become stars of the NRL while playing with Wests Tigers ?
It’s a near guarantee that Luai would be the much superior better option for 2024 and likely 2025, but I do fear either or both of Latu Fainu or Lachlan Galvin may become impatient, depart us and become superstars of the NRL at rival clubs should we not give them the opportunity with us.
The last thing the club needs right now is to lose more players who go on to become stars of the game such as Tedesco and Moses.
Panthers fans love Luai, we will too 💪🏼

I've got Dogs odds on for Laui..opportunity to play under familiar coaches with 2 SOO ex Panthers in backline plus a good 9 for a fraction less $ than us
Hope I'm wrong
That's when JAC becomes availble..

Poverty tier forward pack though.

If Luai went to the dogs...
Burton would have to step aside ?
Or
Burton & Romey halves pairing ? Two running 5/8s ?

They'd have to push Sexton or Taaf to cup?
They'd lose Fox? I think they'd have to lose more than that to accommodate Luais expected wage.

Their forward pack is close to the worst in the comp, on paper (even with the addition Of Curran and their other utilities who can play backrow or 13)

Kinda just seems unrealistic to me.

Not if they want fonua blake. Cant have both.

Could Sullivan play centre?

Jamie Lyon style.
It's an interesting one.

The talk from many commentators is that the best centers are the ones that played 5/8 in the junior grades... i.e. people that know how to score and/or know how to offload the ball to those that score.

Our backline has been so sloppy in defense, I think Sullivan would score more tries but let through more then it would be worth.

It's the flaw in the Sullivan/Fainu/Sezer plan.. your halves are full and we need to upgrade our backline defense BADLY. Hire Luai, sure his first class but were full.

Galvin is our half that can play centre
