It’s also worth noting that there isn’t going to be an announcement that we are in that 10 day period. It’s not something the media reports on. So we’re only guessing in regards to the December 8 business. I think it will be like this everyday. Then an article will pop up one night saying he’s signed or re-signed and that it will be announced the following day. That’s how these things always play out.

Benji is desperate. Hope he has a back up plan when Luai doesn't sign and hope he didn't offend too many other players whilst throwing the kitchen sink at 1 player.
Signing a marquee player is crucial for success. James Maloney helped Cleary out heaps when Penrith were shit. Now they are unstoppable. Luai will help out the young halves for the future. No need to throw them to the wolves with no guidance. Api is our leader and he is only getting older so someone new needs to be the marquee. Not sure anyone currently (not even Bula) can do that in the next 2 years without signing someone big on the market

Has the x-factor, creativity and winning mentality that we lack in our backline.

Maybe you are right. In fact. Hope you are all right. We all want success. I get it. I really hope you are all right. I love being wrong. That's how I learn. Thank you again RugbyGoated

Call me a dreamer but I think he's what we need. I look at AFB and I think he's a better fit for Bulldogs. They don't have a good prop (Max King is a makeshift lock and they missed out on Taukeiaho). I think signing a prop on a million is risky if it's not JFH, Tino or Haas. Stefano, Klemmer, Twal, Pole, Papali'i, Matamua, Bateman isn't terrible. I can understand the price tag of Luai being overpriced and why some of our fans don't feel confident about it, but playing-wise he brings a lot of competitiveness. And not Josh Reynolds competitiveness. But a unique winning knack of hating losing. I reckon if Luai did come he'd be shocked after a few rounds when he realises how hard it is, and it might take 10 rounds to get in the groove, but for the long run he'd mature his game. I also saw an edit of him in a Tigers jersey the other day and it looked perfect on him but that's not really relevant yet I suppose

Agree mate. We NEED to get it done.

AFB wouldn't hurt us.
I'm not sure he'd be as good a fit as some people think. If you look at a player's career, most players have good years and bad years. The best players in their positions stay consistent and top 3 every year. AFB is top 3 this year. The few years before? Talented but inconsistent. 2018-19 Manly AFB was a beast. Which version do we get from him. I doubt we get the Warriors version of 2023. He also had SJ in career best form, CNK career best form, Egan excellent, and great coaching from Andrew Webster. A lot of risk goes into every signing. The question is, does he fit in well at Tigers and would it be worth 1 million?

I've gone back and forth on Luai since we got linked to him, but I'm now very much in the FOR Signing him camp.
I don't think he "blocks" any of our young halves because we shouldn't be relying on 18yos anyway. It just gives us more time to puck the right one. He breaks a bit of a recruitment drought and could trigger a change of fortunes for our recruitment ability. The guy is a winner, same mould as Munster, you hate him when he's playing against you but when he's in your team, he'll do anything and everything needed to win.
I hope he comes, I think it will be a watershed moment
