it seems to be a cheap shot at Luai that he's reliant on other players but real rugby league observers notice that Luai is helping other players be their best by not getting in the way rather than relying on them
I’m a bit surprised Penrith aren’t doing more to keep him but my guess is they hope Jett Cleary comes through into that role and they have some serious money tied into that family.

He is the perfect foil for the steady halfback in Nathan. He plays eyes up footy while Nathan plays the composer role. When Nathan is out he’s shown an ability to step into the organisational role which is why I’m so keen on the signing. He gives me Benji vibes in that he has the skills and attitude to play 7 or 6.

Benji was never a 7.

I disagree. When he lost his speed he developed an ability to control a game and play a much more composed style. He didn’t have the troops around him to parlay that into much success but he played some excellent footy late in his career. A guy like Wayne Bennett saw the potential in him.

If you want to say he wasn’t a 7 early in his career I can agree with that. He was just all out attack at that point.

I don’t think he performed at a consistently high level most games that a good 7 should.

Could still kick it dead on the third.

He was never a game manager. Never had the attributes of a Cronk or a Thurston. He was an attacking machine who regressed ridiculously from 2012 onwards.

Disagree.

Sure, he wasn’t an immortal but that wasn’t the original point.

P.S. May have won test matches verse those guys playing in 7 if I’m not mistaken.
