I wouldn’t get carried away. It’s not like two years ago when we didn’t have a leader. Api is a fine captain. It doesn’t mean Jerome can’t still be a leader.

I can’t think of anything close. Maybe Scott Prince? We don’t win in 05 without him, but he wasn’t a star when we signed him. This is the first out and out star. At his peak.

So for once Gus was being truthful when he said before Christmas that Bulldogs had pulled out of the race to sign Jerome.

Regardless of how he played when he was with us, Blair was the closest IMO. For some reason he was rated the best forward in the world at the time.

Luai is just above him IMO.

Don't know whether to feel excited or nervous. Jarome for me is either going to be a perfect fit or a massive mistake to sign. His personality is polarising too, but at the same time a drawcard for a lot of NRL players. Don't get me wrong, a lot of fans and media despise Jarome, but in the NRL he is very respected by a lot of players

I wouldn't have a problem with this as long as Api has done his time. He doesn't deserve to have the (C) taken from him when he's still playing

All the best players are hated by opposition fans.... Reggie McMediocrity doesn't cause a Ripple among opposing fans as he's no threat

I was someone who claimed Luai would not announce it himself. And i have to say how truly devastated and embarrassed I am that I was wrong. Like seriously, humiliating. Im just going to have to make do with the fact he’s actually signed. Oh well.

He didn't announce it, the club released a press release, then he had a press conference, which is a bit unusual but he wanted to have one session to talk about 2025 and then he now won't talk about us again until the end of next season. Reasonable enough to me.

Your right. However the offer to Munster was around 1.5million. So bigger yeah, bigger cost.
But let me say this. Munster may be more of an instinctive player but I reckon Luai has more composure and control in his game which benefits to what we want to achieve in getting a dominating playmaker to lead our team.

Thats a good point. Luai can run a team. Munster you need to find players who can play off the back of him.

So stoked he's a Tiger in 25. If the Olam trade is genuine then I'd expect the club to get that sorted pretty quickly. Still think we will be in the media this year chasing another big fish. We have AFB money laying around, I reckon we are still going to be going crazy in the market with one or two signings for 25 or earlier.

Funny how there’s been no new contract for Best at the nites!

He's polarizing to opposition fans, im pretty sure most of the panthers fan base loves him or loved him now. He's a draw card theres no one else we could have possibly landed with a bigger profile and in his prime as we have with Luai. I don't think we are in a Josh Reynolds situation with him, its a huge signing make no mistake.

Based on his public comments about Luai, I doubt it. He just wants what is best for Nathan (which is perfectly moral as a father) but on the business side of things at Penrith it would be seen as nepotism and favouritism. This is only compounded by the fact that they are trying to push Jett Cleary into the team long term when there are better options. If there is a downfall at Penrith, it would be an off field scandal with one of the Cleary's. They are the soul of the club now that Luai is gone
